I was diagnosed with coronary heart disease, some years ago and put on a collection of medication. I was sent to have an angiogram, where it was found I had 90% blockage in one artery. I was then sent to have an MIR scan for more investigation which may, it was said, lead to further treatment including a stent or operation. This was in July 2023, I have had not contact with the specialist since. I contacted the team in October and they said they had just got my notes from the scan. No one had reviewed them. I contacted them again in November 2023 and they still have not reviewed my notes from the MIR. Is this usual?

Waiting time between MIR and results
I don’t know but I would say:
It depends on the hospital itself as to how far behind they are, and on that speciality as to how busy they are.
In your position I’d contact the Patient Advisory Liaison Service. (PALS),
I don't suppose you'll get much response out of them around Christmas time, but I'd call them again in the New Year and if you're still getting the same reply, I'd ask them (pleasantly - you'll just get dismissed as an awkward patient if you're aggressive!) how long the process usually takes and how you're concerned as you have been diagnosed with a 90% blockage, yet have now waited 6 months for your results. They'll then have to give you some kind of time frame and at least you'll know where you stand.
have you tried the secretary for your consultant / specialist? Perhaps explain what’s happened and they may be able to help? I’ve often found them helpful and sometimes it “joins the dots” and gets things moving.
I have read here before people have advised if had been any urgent issues they would contacted sooner but we all want progress and answers regardless.
Hope you get some progress soon.

I know the NHS are under pressure but no way should it take more than 2 or 3 weeks to get results. Like others have said - try to get the secretaries to speaks to the doctor or practitioners. See if you can find their email addresses as well.
I think I read somewhere else on here that someone received a VERY frosty response when they managed to find their consultant's email address and emailed them direct, but I agree that an email to their secretary can bring good results. You can often find their email addresses on the hospital's website.
If you don't get any help from the secretary, contact PALS and stress the 90% blockage.
