First of all I want to thank you all for the messages of support i received before my operation on the 19th of February. The good news is that my triple bypass was a success !

I spent a total of 10 days in hospital, I had a few ups and downs, but overall I have had a positive experience, albeit sometimes a bit on the uncomfortable side.

I know its a big operation, but you have no sense of time between going to sleep and waking up to the smiling faces of the lovely ICU nurses.

The first few days after surgery are all a bit of a blur and seem surreal. The worst thing for me personally was trying to sleep at night due to drips, drains and assorted attachments. But gradually as you progress these get taken out and you get unplugged.

it's an old cliche but you really have nothing to fear but fear itself.

Being back home is a positive thing and i am trying to get around without overdoing it.

I feel it's going to be tough in the early weeks, but i am not discouraged. I know I will come out of this a stronger and better person for the experience.

Good luck to everyone.

Greencurry.

I could never sleep in the cardiac ward, and to make matters worst they took blood at 3am😲

So pleased you’re home and the op was a success. The whole thing is very scary and such a huge relief to be on the road to recovery. Just take it steady and try to rest where possible. All the best.

Well done 👍🏻. Glad you’re home and comfortable. It’s a rebirth and the start of another journey . Keep chipping away , keep walking , keep comfortable. Keep an eye on the rehab class invite , my name dropped off the list so I had to chase it up 🤦🏼. Keep us posted on your progress 👍🏻
