A tunnelling ulcer in Sweet's syndrome after chemotherapy
- Skin rash developed into crater-like ulcer and
abscess
. The ulcer was a sinus tract ulcer or tunnelling ulcer. Normally, Sweet's syndrome doesn't affect the tissues below the dermal skin layer. In this case both fatty tissue and muscle were affected.

Having an GA and operation whilst on warfarin
She developed an internal
abscess
that antibiotics weren't touching and her GP told her to go to A&E at the crack of dawn to be seen urgently. They were so alarmed at her infection levels she was kept in and operated on the next day.

A Tale of Four Teeth …. and Apixaban.
All of the teeth were upper situated - one right in the front (which was a leaking
abscess
) and three, all close together, upper left.

Stomach /Bowel pain Update
It appears I have an
abscess
caused through perforation probably due to all the pressure I had happening down there. The Renal Specialist has said that being on Prednisolone would have affected my immune system so I was not able to fight it off. Here I was thinking I had a bad case of IBS.

Update and seasons greetings.
The groin
abscess
seems to have responded to antibiotics. It turns out that the iss6with my left eye is that the lens is stuck to the iris. The specialist I saw explained that it will develop into a cataract which will be removed as and when necessary.

Root Canal/steroids/antibiotics-avoid?
I had a tooth
abscess
. I was given a course of amoxicillin that dealt with the infection but gave me terrible Thrush that took quite a long time to get on top of. This was before I was diagnosed with PMR, but I was suffering really badly with it.

Is this ‘normal’ or should I bite the bullet and get a doc appointment?
Last October I was admitted to hospital with sepsis, thought to be due to a kidney
abscess
, later diagnosed as kidney cancer. The kidney was removed last December, they got it all and other than monitoring there’s no further treatment needed.

I need some help
I am 67 years old, feel exhausted, 10 years ago I had major bowel surgery that went horribly wrong and keep getting sepsis from a recurring
abscess
in the pelvic cavity. Hospital appointments are cancelled, and I can never find any information out.

The abdominal
abscess
I have had been quiet for a week until yesterday. I was changing my dressing and had quite a large leak of discharge. I have spoken with my GP. Got more antibiotics and dressings and will speak with him next week. Still very fatigued and have aching joints.

Dental extraction.
At the end of this month, I am due to have four dental extractions: Two stumps (it’s a long story); the root of a crown which came off recently and where there is insufficient root left to re-join the crown; and a leaking
abscess
which appeared the day before Christmas, in a front tooth.

A date to remember.
The
abscess
that has given me so many problems this year has abated for the time being. I am to have a swab done so the medics can prescribe targeted antibiotics for that particular infection (finally).
