Bicalutamide/ Lupron/Reclast, now going to
Abiraterone
/ Pred.... I am concerned about taking Pred for a long period.. I had a second option at UCLA Medical Center, and they suggested I do Apalutamide or Enzalutamide. I would like to hear from anyone who has had these other drugs and results...

To treat or not to treat: is it acceptable to avoid active therapies in advanced prostate cancer today?
A recent analysis has shown that the addition of
abiraterone
to ADT improved OS in mHSPCa irrespective of risk stratification [36] but, as the benefit of adding
abiraterone
to ADT in patients with relapsed metastatic HSPCa is uncertain, it may be possible to to avoid
abiraterone
in such patients.

How long can docetaxel work after treatment with abiraterone
Probably about to start docetaxel. I realize that everyone responds differently, but how long can I expect it to work after Zytiga has already failed?

BAT: transformer trial
The primary conclusion was that for patients that fail
abiraterone
, doing BAT sensitises the PCa to enza to a very significant degree and BAT has potential to reverse resistance to antiandrogen(s?)

Update to Can't treat what we can't see
Following is from the After Visit Summary: We discussed a recommendation for enzalutamide at this point - while it may have a lower response rate compared to docetaxel, especially after progression on
abiraterone
therapy, the toxicity of docetaxel is significantly greater, especially in the context

Next Step Docetaxel after Abiraterone & Xtandi failed.
After being on
abiraterone
for 10 months, my husband's PSA numbers started climbing again. His doctor switched him to Xtandi in July of this year. Hubby's PSA climbed from 35.5 in August to 78.6 in October after being on Xtandi for 3 months.

Question about starting Abiraterone
I am going to be adding
Abiraterone
to my Lupron next week. MO says 4 - 30 mg pills. Should I start with all 4 a day or start with 1 then 2 etc. so my body gets use to it? Anybody tried this approach???? Thanks as always to all of you.

Update: A choice between 2 clinical trials as of yesterday afternoon. 1. AMG 509 and 2. Cocktail of 4 immunotherapy drugs.
Today is the first day since June 8, 2019, that I did not take
Abiraterone
as they want me to begin cleansing from that. I will continue with monthly Degarelix injections. I hope to hear some opinions on the antibodies and agents involved. I will share what I find out. Thanks Philly

A Quick Update and Trial Questions
My PSA fell below 0.1 in January 2019, then to <0.01 after starting
abiraterone
in May 2019. This summer it went up to 0.02, then 0.03, and about two weeks after stopping
abiraterone
it was a detectable by all standards 0.16. Looks like it was doing a little something.

End of BAT; a few lessons
I went on to
abiraterone
(abi) (plus of course prednisone). I am now in an interesting trial of abi plus the PARP inhibitor Niraparib. I will separately report on my experiences there. OK, so what can we say about this treatment?
