How long can docetaxel work after treatment with abiraterone

Probably about to start docetaxel. I realize that everyone responds differently, but how long can I expect it to work after Zytiga has already failed?

Impossible to answer, everyone is different. You can Google all the stats you care to read but none of them apply to you. Docetaxel worked for me for 5 years before I gave it a Zytiga booster.

How many treatments of Docetaxel did you have?

Six treatments each consisting of 75 MG.

Docetaxel has done well 3 yrs so far, added xtandi to the mix.

short lived for me. Jumped back up in 2 months. cabazataxel + carboplatin lasts longer.

Why did you stop with 8 rounds of docetaxel?

Stopped working and PSA was climbing. Very short lived response for me.

Hi, why did you stop? Was it just not working with you? Thanks, That’s the combo I’m on now just had 6th Tx. Worked minimally so far..

I had to stop docetaxel as it stopped working and my PSA climbed for 3 consecutive test. During treatment my PSA dropped to a low of 2.1 then started climbing. At the start of carboplatin and Jevtana my PSA was 29 and after first infusion it was at 19. Third infusion next week.

I am tolerating the treatment well 2-3 days of fatigue and some nausea. Still walking 2+ Miles with the dog each day

As they say it works different for all folks - I have been through 4 treatments and my PSA has gone way up and I don't even have the prostate - looking for alternatives
