NHS HIIT training youtube

I found an NHS channel on youtube with HIIT training on it.

Not sure how you should use them and there seems little explanation. There are something like 7 sessions, di you do one after the other and start again or repeat 1 several times before moving on.

Seem quite good background music is a little loud but more structured, more organized and less shouty than Jo Wicks!

That's a new one to me. But I do tend to look the other way when I see the letters TIHI sequenced as you have them 😱

Hi!

I was going to post about these videos a while ago, but I decided that I didn't like the volume of the music on them. Also, it is a bit too obvious that they were not made exclusively for the NHS website, and the instructors keep making references to features available on the site for which the videos were originally produced - and I think this could be a bit confusing!

That said, the company who made the videos are known to me, and I think they are pretty good - particularly Leigh, who is instructing on the HIIT videos - so I reckon they are worth a go. Did you try them out?

Here is a link to the HIIT playlist in case anyone sees this and is interested 😊

I am, amongst other things. I run 3 x per week and generally go to the gym 2 x so not a lot of spare time. 2nd and 3rd videos are not as noisy. Like Leigh's style and energy but it might be that I am just an old man! :-)

I did 2nd one yesterday which was lower body. Not really done much with that as I run 25 is kms per week.

I can barely walk today and my glutes are so stiff it was painful sitting on the loo!

Bit of an update. Finally went out for a run today after being so stiff. I did go to the gym and did some upper body and a 20min walk on the treadmill to try to loosen up yesterday, I still could not bend down to pick up something from the floor. I dragged my way through 10 k in 28 degrees.

I completed c25k about 2 years ago and have been running pretty constantly 3 times per week up to about 25k. I go to the gym and use that for upper body.

What this has taught me, quite painfully is that despite that running there is still work to do below the waist and ultimately that will help with the running. So from now on at least one lower body session per week!
