So, after the embarrassment of getting the wrong day for my 5 miler with a friend I got out there again today and I got out of the car and was doing some dynamic stretching as my running buddy arrived, having run to our start point... that helped us both, for me this was a 5, for her a 10 but she still had to slow down for me. This was a great run, finishing just next to a cafe, great planning. The only thing not so great about the planning was that I forgot to factor the car in... so we had a 1.6 mile walk to discuss the fact that I would be doing a sit up soon, and that she’d join me for a 10k in two weeks... thank goodness she’s off to uni in the autumn. Dropped her off and drove home.
So I’ve been fairly lazy this afternoon.
Daily stats: 8 miles covered on foot, 14,380 steps, 122 moving minutes, 81 minutes brisk walk or run. I’m pretty happy with that as an end to April! Bring it on May.
Edit: Final score from Apple health in the picture... I intend to add about 25 steps and one flight of stairs to it soon!

This morning I tried a little experiment on my yoga mat.
About two hours after I did my three minute perfect plank along with the video of Tom Holland and after I came back from shopping I decided to do pushups and see just how many I could do in a hour with 90 second breaks between the reps, 10 at a time, with a longer break of 2 and a half minutes after every 50 rep, so at exactly 9am I did ten, 9.02 ten and so on with as I say a three minute break after every 50.
At the end just before ten I had done 282, the last rep being 12, rather than the 10 I had been doing, perhaps if I had gone a little longer with two more 90 second breaks I would have done 300, not sure if that did me any good or not, my arms are not aching but it's not easy doing that for so long unless you specifically train for doing them
Tomorrow as part of my "runiversary runs season" I'm running run 2 of week 6 of C25K before tackling once again run 3 of week 5 next Saturday morning.
Oh my god Al... 282 is a huge number! Well done. I know doing a lot less daily had some pretty amazing results, think there’s a video of 100 a day for a month on YouTube... but they struggled after a week or so. I loved W6R2 the moment it was over 😂. I plan to revisit that and the one before at some point... they need their butts kicking.
Today was amazing and while I’d run the distance before I hadn’t done it comfortably so I was doing a bit of consolidating while I was doing the rest of my plan. It surprised me how much I liked running with someone else at my pace too. So, 9k next week and then that 10 needs taking down. I’m looking good for a 10k event in July, and I should be able to run almost 10 miles by then.
Just watched the video UNM, This morning was an exception to my usual only doing 100 push ups over a 18 minute period. Usually after I come back from my main shopping on a Tuesday I do push ups, sit ups and a little session with the pair of 5 Kilogram kettle bells I bought at Tesco around two years ago.
The push up part starts at 9 am, 10 reps, I have a timer, usually takes around 20/25 seconds, the next set of ten are at 9.02 and so on, at 18 minutes past 9 it's the last set of ten. So that's a hundred in 18 minutes with those around 90 second breaks, I repeat another 100 at 4 to 4.18 pm on a Friday. BUT ands it's a big BUT, if I did what they said on the video, that guy say 10 reps every 2 minutes was OK and better than 15, I could do that every day for a month at any time of the day after a hour having nothing to eat. There are a few videos of men and boys doing push ups at the rate of 100 a minute non stop or a thousand in 30 minutes or less, these people must specialise in doing them like that, not just part of general exercises.
Today is the first of May, I have decided to take the plunge and attempt that 100 pushups a day every day challenge during the month of May, if I do what I do on a Tuesday at 9 am and on a Friday at 4 pm which are 100 push-ups over 18 minutes I think I will be OK, no more trying 282 in an hour. However the accumulative effect from doing them every day might make me change my mind, I'll keep you posted.
This morning as I said yesterday I'll be running run 2 of week 6, when I get back sometime between ten o'clock and eleven I'll start the 100 push up a day challenge, it's only 18 minutes if I do it the way I do them on a Tuesday and Friday.
Hi again UnfitNoMore, I'll tell you what I have done this morning since about 90 minutes after breakfast, at 9.10 I reran run 2 of week 6 of C25K, just jogged along on the 2/10 minute run parts at about 40 minutes 5K pace. That run ended at around 9.25, walked home and at exactly ten o'clock began the 100 push up a day for a month challenge, 18 minutes, 10x10 reps with around 9/90 second breaks, it works out at 10 every two minutes, felt not too bad at the end, onwards and upwards, have a good day, I now am going to sit back on the couch and watch the World Championship Snooker from Sheffield.
I can't do more than 25 at once Johnny, if I did my arm gets very sore, so I just space it out to ten with a ninty second break and just keep going, not too happy with squats although I have done them.
I'll post it up later. Think you my like it. 27 days it gets you doing 3 sets I think. Its only on the 28th day you do 50. The 27th day I think is 4 sets of 15 which means you do 60 that day. Squats I've come to enjoy. Used to hate them but rather like them now
Well done sir. Running partners are great. Oh what it would be like to be able to run 😭😭😭😁. I done my 15min endurence for Nike. Flip me I still can do the side plank on foot properly. Just can't get the technique at all.

Well... she’s capable of at least an 18 minute 5k... I wasn’t keeping up, she had the brakes on 😂. Was a good run though... and I finished wanting some more, which is the best way to walk away from the finish on training days.
