I would like to invite you to join me in an 8 week plan that will get you to either a minute of planking, or a 3 minute planking workout. I will be starting on the 7th of February and posting weekly with follow along videos.
I’m on for that! I had a session with a professional trainer recently who asked if I knew what the plank was. I said I thought it was a mimsy press up. Oh, how wrong!!
I know, I was hoping no one would spot that as I didn’t want to have to redo it as I’d make even more mistakes!! I guessed people would realise that..... but maybe that is the plan 😉
I’ve just joined Strenght and Flex. Count me in please. I was doing some squats, lunges and planks after my 5K yesterday. I’m sore today. Only starting to do strength and Flex training now.
Oh my lord, my 11y/o has set me the challenge of getting a six pack for summer *insert hysterical laughing here* so whilst feeling the hysteria I will sign up for this! 😳🥴
Yes please...I already plank for about 20/30 seconds on my elbows front and sides since it was introduced in your 10K plan but advice on improving time and posture etc would be greatly appreciated 👍😊
Think this is exactly what I need. Progressing training to half distance, but so far been lazy about any other training and struggling with my back, so a group to help keep me accountable might mean I actually do the other core exercises that I really need to be doing!

Me please! I have been planking recently and have definitely seen an improvedment in both the time I can plank and the day-to-day strength of my core (which helps with my back pain!). Would love to make it to three minutes though.
Me too . Loved the C25K running plan and consolidated for a year but need structure in my running, so I am grateful for your plan and though daunting ,I know we can do this .might repeat each week just to take it a bit slower as I’m mid fifties😊
It will be a very gentle plan... I have it all ready to post. Its basically 10 seconds for 4 times each week, increasing by 10 seconds each week with double up weeks too... you can take the plan as slowly as you need to.. and age is just a number remember, I will be 50 this year and I am not going to let it stop me from doing anything!!
wow that sounds great fun! doing stuff with your children is the best. My son is actually going to be doing the videos of this for me. He has been my running buddy since he was 12, its really bonded us, so enjoy those special times
Ahhhh I love this! My daughter loves the idea of running with me and she has done the C25k Week 1, run 1 about a million times but she changes her mind after that! We have a really fantastic parkrun here in Exmouth so that everytime a junior completes parkrun either by walking, running or hopping lol they get a stamp on their card and after 5 stamps they get free bowling at the place you scan your barcode. So that is really encouraging! I run in a fantastic community group that does a lot for beginners and kids its fab xx
This is just perfect for you then, it is designed for beginners..... do the 10 second start one. This will then build up over 8 weeks to get you to a minute
this is the second time i have joined you on a 10k- last time was a complete fail but hoping to do better this time - I enjoyed the couch to 5k so much but then let it go - my name for that was vigneronne but seem to have changed - thanks for your help

Thanks, roseabi and ju-ju! The side planks are new to me and more like side plonks, after a bit of a wobble. But then again, running for a few minutes seemed impossible a year or so ago! 😊👍🏻🐞
