I finished May with 100km run and a lot of walking added, and I started June with 18 miles of running and total moving on foot at 105km for the week... but on Saturday afternoon I ran up the stairs and gave myself a minor groin strain, so I’ve not run since parkrun. I went to juniors as tailwalker on Sunday and when they ran I kept walking, cutting corners off the course to keep up as it reacted badly to my first attempt at anything faster. My physio says I can run again now, but no speed work, no extending the long run etc. It’s feeling a lot better today so I’m off out for a light run in the morning... virtual pacer set on the watch to keep me slow, and maximum distance set to stop me.
I’ve been doing some upper body strengthening and a little bit of yoga this week. Missed the running, but according to Garmin I’m at 255 minutes of the 150 weekly target of cardio for the week, which is pretty normal, but there’s no intense minutes in there at all. I’m pretty pleased with that as I know my next injury won’t hold me back... I’ll still hit that fitness target. Can’t wait to give it a go tomorrow and hoping that it doesn’t react as that will mean a full week at least off.

Thanks... looking forward to running however long it is... first sign of any reaction and it’s done, so gonna be repetitive short laps and fending off the boredom
Damn right... next injury had better be at the end of an epic run... not the middle, not a regular run, right at the end of my longest run will do me fine. I should be careful what I wish for too 🤣
I’ve avoided the scree pretty well this year 😂. This injury was a bit of a disappointment really, here’s hoping I can get back to really ridiculous ways to injure this runner next time round!!
I’m sort to hear you are having trouble. You are doing the right thing by looking after it, you will heal faster by doing that. Take care of yourself. Rfc x
Oh no! Boooo to the IC, but it does to happen to us all sooner or later. The good news is that you've found an alternative way to keep your body moving.
