Here is the link, on case you have not found it yet... This month it is all about breathing! Something I really need to work on right now.
You may not be a massive yoga fan... but I can honestly say, for the last month it has helped keep me moving, mind, and body...
I am embarking on a a block of swimming lessons too... to refresh my skills but mainly to improve my breathing techniques and stamina. I am forking out a lot of dosh for one to one lessons! My teacher has no idea what he has let himself in for !
So... if you feel like it join me ! Here, not in the pool !
I am hoping also that Bluebirdrunner might pop in and if she has the time, maybe post a few of her yoga post experiences here too I feel sure she may be doing the Feb' challenge?
Feel free to join in and to post here if you have the time
Fresh off the mat with Day 1 of the Feb calendar under my belt. Its a nice full body stretchy one taking time to find the correct position to make the most of the time.
All important breathing this month, something which crosses over into my running as I try to relax my shoulders and open my chest. Warrior one today for that leg strengthening and some wide legged toe touching twists.
Your swimming sessions to improve breathing and stamina sound great. I hope your instructor is nice, those school lessons years ago were not much fun! We had a Miss Trunchbull type I remember.
Yes, looking forward to getting back to daily yoga this month. The YWA sessions vary in length but you can pick and choose as time allows. In front of the TV is my favourite place, but I have used my phone squeezed in next to the bed on occasion to get my practice in.
Hello and sorry to be so late replying... the Rugby took centre stage yesterday afternoon!
Here you are and we are on the way... the Yoga is really something else. Unlike you I have not always found it to be , my, thing!
The session sounds and is so useful.. stretching those reluctant, sometimes , bits! Ad the breathing, oh yes. I am really glad that this month focuses on that!
My teacher for swimming, is the same one that my small runner in training has been having. He, she pronounces, is wonderful and he has managed to encourage and support a somewhat nervous water baby, and turned her into a , now, learning to dive, sleek, confident otter !
Your location sounds like mine currently... comfy and warm in front of the TV ...my studio is a tad chilly right now!
Thank you so much for this... it would be good if other's read this, and like me, inspired by your lead in Yoga, find that it really does have so much to offer, both body and of course mind.
Day 2 is a core one. Nothing too tricky and it is a short practice. There is Downward dog today and a couple of planks. A little goes a long way says Adriene so that will do for me today. ππxxx
Your swim instructor sounds great, you will enjoy those swim sessions I think!
I had to search for the day 2 practice on my TV the calendar list is not on the YouTube channel on there, but it is on my phone...
I enjoyed yesterdays Stress Management practice. Breathing then twists. Slow delibrate moves requiring discipline. There are a couple of Down dogs and plank holds, but mainly great stretches. πxxx
Huge well done to you... you are really good at this.
I'm enjoying this all... I tweaked yesterday and did Quad release again.. I had a tight left quad.. felt good.... but my left calf muscle was twinging after!
I may do stress relief today as the folk who should be here for an assessment for Mr OF are already 15 minutes late!!!
