Kitchen Witch Remedies or Pharmaceutical? 420 VS Painkillers?

Hi Everyone!!

Firstly, Happy Fri-yay!!

I hope everyone is keeping as safe and well as humanly possible.

Today I've been reading up on self medicating while I await my next appointment with my specialist.

I'm curious to know if anyone has any experience with either CBD oil or Medical Marijuana?

During my research today, I discovered that Medical THC is being used to help treat people with autoimmune diseases because it actually acts as a immunosuppressive and apparently CBD Oil is great for achy joints.

I class myself as a bit of a "Kitchen Witch" so herbal/natural remedies are my first choice when I have an ailment of some sort rather than automatically reaching for pharmaceutical medicines so I'm intrigued to know if anyone has any experience of using those remedies for either Scleroderma, Myositis or Lupus? The CBD oil is something I can obtain easily enough but it goes without saying that the Medical Marijuana requires a prescription from a medical professional.

Regardless of people's answers, there is no judgement here at all to anyone who does use those products or even those who take a more natural herbal route and enjoy the benefits of mother natures herbs in another form.

I'd love to know what you guys think of all this? And is anyone on THC pills for suppressing their immune system? - I would love to hear from you!

Let's discuss and compare?!

Hi Vic, THC can only be obtained in a private prescription in the UK and is very expensive. Likewise over the counter CBD products contain such a small amount that they will not make a massive difference physically. To get a private prescription you have to exhaust conventional options first and the try and find a GP that will prescribe medical grade Cannabis. The majority of people who are on it use it by placing it in a vaping device ,either a personal one or a room one. It is an area that is being studied more and more . There are currently only 4 or 5 approved medications that contain cannabinoids in the UK so there is a long way to go yet.Good luck in your quest.

Hi Agedbiker ! Many thanks for your reply and comments.

Thank you for making me aware of the above. I very almost shelled out £80 on a bottle of CBD oil for my aches and pains till I read your comments! From my understanding, the CBD Oil is a topical ointment? I had high hopes for it that it would be a winner (no pun intended). With regard to THC I've seen websites that indeed sell the THC oil with vapes. I'm concerned that buying such things online could be a scam but I'm at the point of desperation with my pain levels. I've been on Cocodamol, Amitryptiline and Voltarol for a long time now and I cannot take ibuprofen due to the fact it kicks off my asthma (the irony is that the ibuprofen does occasionally take the edge off the pain). I think my biggest challenge will be to find a GP who's willing to prescribe it but even if I do, i have no idea how to actually bring my request up. I would much rather be on a natural herbal remedy than constantly swallowing strong pills. Tramadol is the next stage up painkiller wise and I can't take them because they make me incredibly sick. I refuse to be on constant Diazepam or other Benzos simply because of the addiction problems that can come with them. It's not healthy for anyone to be on that kind of medication constantly.

Fingers crossed I can sort something soon! Thanks again! I wish you all the best xxx

The video on this link might give you a good insight. It is from a group of medical scientists who are pushing for the process to be simplified. It is quite long but there is a lot of good, reliable information in there.youtu.be/fgAMgC2KotI
