has anyone been confronted with their third recurrence with surgical or chemo as treatment? little to no data on surgery prolonging life....will be starting chemo doxil and cysplatinum with avastin starting a little later in the year. i would appreciate hearing of the side effects people have had on doxil.....fearful after reading about the signs and symptoms.....thank you

I had doxil and carbo platin and didn't find it bad. I would be knocked out for 5-6 days after but then had another good three weeks each cycle. My platelets dropped a lot but recovered in time for the next cycle. I iced my hands and feet and mouth during chemo and was careful to use heavy moisturizer on hands and feet for the first week of each cycle. I did get a few mouth sores but not too bad. I'd be more worried about the cisplatin if it were me but I've never had that. Your onc is really going after the cancer which is what you want! Good luck.

doxil...sun sensitive. May get small spots on arms legs midriff. Dont worry its just another chemo
