Opdivo/Yervoy combo - Study

An encouraging Opdivo/Yervoy study was presented at ASCO recently, which gave me a little more hope for the future.

Yervoy (ipilimumab) is an anti-CTLA-4, which apparently has higher risk of serious side-effects than some other immuno drugs.

I wonder if anyone here can comment on their experience with yervoy/opdivo? Did it help you? Did you have manageable side effects?

Hi Susi- I have clear cell ovarian cancer and received three cycles of opdivo/yervoy, and am continuing with opdivo as a maintenance immunotherapy every three weeks. I’ve had minimal side effects. The worst being itching and some rashes. The good news is my tumor in my psoas muscle has shrunken, and my CA 125 marker has dropped significantly. I’ve been very pleased with the results so far and wish you all the best. Leni

yes, this combo helped me greatly. I was on both of them for three months, then the yervoy is discontinued and I take opdivo infusion every three weeks. Minimal side effects. My CA 125 is coming down very nicely and a mass that I have on my back muscle has shrunk. I hope this helps.

Hello- starting in April, I had 3 treatments of Opdivo/Yervoy, with 3 week intervals. Then, just Opdivo. It reduced my CA125 from 200+ to 20! I am very happy about my response. My cancer is clear cell OVCA. Good Luck!

I was actually on a clinical trial after I was diagnosed (2018) that included Opdivo/Rucaparib, and I credit it for still being here. I was told that Rucaparib was finding success with breast cancer survivors, while Opdivo was finding success with lung cancer survivors. The trial I was on was testing both on Ovarian survivors. So even though it was not the same combination you are receiving, there definitely seems to be something about Opdivo that is driving this progress. I'm still here, six years later, so fingers crossed, it benefits others in the same way.
