Hi, I am new here, diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer Stage 1C3 in January, 2017. My doctor tells me that 80-90 percent chance that this cancer will not come back and that it is most likely treatable. I was treated with the 6 rounds of Carbo/Taxol combo. Now, I'm trying to get on with my life. It's in my face everyday. Very difficult. I would like to hear from some long term survivors and their stories for inspiration. Thanks so much:)Susan

Any long term survivors out there, over 15 years?

Hi ovarian1c ! I don't know if she's been on here recently, but our ovarian helpline coordinator is an over 20-year survivor of Stage IIIc ovarian cancer. This is a transcript of a speech she gave a few years back about how she got through: sharecancersupport.org/2013...
Hope it gives you a little boost today. <3
I was diagnosed 1c3 clear cell in 2014, I too had the carbo/taxol cocktail. Apart from a nuisance peripheral neuropathy, being over conscious of every twinge and having to be more aware of what I eat I’m doing fine. It never quite leaves your conscious, it constantly flutters away at the back of your mind, you’re now the new you with all its new quirks and foibles but you do get used to it. There are ladies I know of on the UK version of this forum who are longer into remission than I am and I’m sure there will be ladies over the pond with you who are long term too.
I hope you soon come to terms with your new way of life and are able to embrace each day.
Big hugs and love from the UK 🇬🇧 ❤️Xx jane
