This last chemo took me for the roughest ride yet the first 24 hours I was throwing up and had diarrhea (so bad never in my life have i experienced such pain n sickness) and I lost my voice to witch it hasn't come back. painful blisters in throat n mouth..doing the switch n swollow. and salt n baking soda mouth rice plus mouth wash..not helping much. my throat feels so burned. starting to feel I'm never gonna talk again. :(

Gotta do another one on 22nd and I'm so scared it will be worse than last. I fought so hard over the last one and I'm so weak. prayers please. And if y'all know of anything to help getting my voice back let me know. This is so painful. Thank you all. And God bless us all.

Veronica--I'm so sorry you are going through this rough time now. Have you spoken with your oncologist or nurse for suggestions on how to alleviate these side effects? Keep thinking about the end of chemo. Soon it will be over. Have you tried Emend for the nausea? Good luck!

What's Emend? Is it orc or prescription? I tried so hard to keep my mind focused on my faith this time. But I am okay now. just worried so bad for the next one. My husband works on boat and has left for work. So he will be gone for 30 days. So imma do it alone. The fear of the unknown and being alone is scaring me. Praying hard for sure. Ty for your help. I sure do appreciate it.

Emend is a prescription med that is started before chemo. It is a packet of three pills. My insurance paid for it but I know it is very expensive if your insurance will not pay. But it is worth asking about. Have you tried ginger tea? Don't know what state you are in but medical marijuana is said to help nausea as well. I had acupuncture treatments for nausea before and after every chemo. My hospital glad an integrative medical center. Hope this info helps. Good luck! How many more treatments do you have?

i am so sorry you are going through that, tell your oncologist about it, they might able to reduce dosage, also take the pills before chemo the exact way it tells you, I know there was one that I needed to drink a full glass of water with it. I used ginger drops, ginger ale anything to keep from being sick. also my third chemo was the hardest and I was so scared to continue, but they are not all the same. hope you feel better soon.
