I got the CT results today and I have multiple lesions showing in different liver lobes. I am currently on Flosodex and Piqray. Wondering about MRI or Biopsy? Med change? My head is spinning.💔

Liver lesions are not unexpected when you have metastatic breast cancer. Fortunately, the liver is a large organ, and may well continue to function. I have had metastatic breast cancer since 2019 with multiple sites including my liver. However, all my liver measures continue to be in the normal range so I have avoided surgery. I simply continue taking ribociclib with letrozole to stop all my cancer sites from growing.

Dear Bluhydrangea, Try to put the worry and overthinking aside until you see your onco. They will have a plan and you will carry on,. I totally know how hard that is and I’m sure you know all about “living in the present” too 😉. But I’ve really been working on banishing fear and living my best life and after a while it starts working. Like you, I’ve been on Piqray (for 15 months) and I just had a PET scan, will see onco on Wednesday. I am sort of expecting it to progress because markers have been higher. My blood pressure definitely goes up once I’m in the doctor’s waiting room but until then, I just ignore the whole thing. I don’t even look at the bloodwork results and I never look at the scan report until after I’ve seen the doctor. This isn’t to say I’m passive — I’ve done a lot of research and have gotten second opinion about possible follow on therapies — but I just really try to just pretend that everything is normal in the meantime.

By the way there’s another drug that targets pic3ca and it’s called Truqap.

Hi BluHydrangea , I know it’s a shock when the cancer moves to a new area. Mine went to the liver in Dec2022 and it felt very daunting. The good news is there are many treatment options in the toolbox. In my case I went to Xeloda, Piqray, then IV chemo. I’ve tolerated them all and still feel pretty normal on a physical level. Your doctor will guide you on next steps … best of luck and stay strong!

I am sorry to hear of the change but reading the comments allows for some hope . It looks like there are effective treatment options and you will still feel good. As LDR1 says, stay strong, you are not alone. Sending you good energy♥️

I know this is upsetting but there will be a way forward. I also got progression in the liver after 3 stable years on Letrozole/Palbociclib but managed to continue for another year before having to change. Since then have only had success for 6 months at a time, partly I think because I have developed resistance to hormone treatments. I have just done 6 months on Paclitaxel and will soon have latest CT results so am praying it is still working. I haven’t had any pain or other symptoms from the liver involvement. Hoping this is sorted out for you soon, sending hugs in the meantime.

When my CT showed progression to liver my doctor ordered an MRI to confirm. From there a biopsy was done to check for mutations.

It’s always unnerving when we have a change of any sort. Once your new plan is in place you will get to a better place mentally.

I haven’t had to deal with progression yet 🙏🏻 but always waiting for that other shoe to drop. Try to stay positive and keep putting one foot in front of the other. Just like LDR1 mentioned, there are many tools in the toolbox and more in the pipeline! Praying you’ll find some peace and know we are all here for you.

I have a tumor in my liver which is inoperable. I have been on Faslodex since 2019 and so far I am progression free. My liver function tests are in the normal range and tumor markers are normal. I had an ultrasound, CT scan, MRI, PET scan and liver biopsy. I have MRI's every 4-5 months. Keep us posted, Good luck to all of us in our journey.

My Breast Cancer metastisized in 2019 to my liver and bones.I have been on numerous treatments since then.I currently am on Enhertu and it has been the best yet (having no side effects other than hair loss and manageable constipation).

Most days I feel perfectly fine .

thanks everyone! Dr talking about Xeloda. I’m going to get a second opinion at MD Anderson— but can’t get in there until early July. I’m going to continue with Fluvestrant until 2nd opinion.

Hi Blu, My head is spinning also when I went from Oligio-metastasis (one spine new spine met) to multiple bone mets and new liver mets. At the time of one new spine met, I was switched from Ibrance/Faslodex to Orserdu. My PT Scan was January 24 and then May 8. It was during this time the Progression was sparked. My oncologist was quite surprised and went straight to IV Chemo infusions (Trodelvy), which I just started. She said she just wants to see the fastest means to a response. That is my story to share at this time as I also process, prepare and pray along this journey. This was all very quick, as i has 18 stable months on Ibrance/Faslodex with one met which had been radiated. God Bless and Good Luck.
