New Skin lesions-- with metastatic breast cancer

I just passed my 26 years since diagnosis and 6 years since metastatic in multiple bones. Mutiple early-stage drugs and chemo and mastectomy. I have now been 6 years on Ibrance with varied combo drugs including Exemestane, letrozole and Faslodex,. Numbers on my PET scan are increasing so the onc is looking to change things up. but what is most concerning to both of us is that I now have multiple skin mets on my chest. Just wondering if anyone developed skin mets in the original area on the breast and if so -- what drugs were tried??

I have nearly the same cancer as you. Difference is the skin mets. I don't have an answer for you except to get a biopsy done and since your oncologist is also in the dark, it is time for a second opinion. Happy your are doing so well. 6 Years is great.

Cheers, June S.

I have skin nodules on my chest both sides, had biopsies that confirmed metastatic invasive lobular cancer, Er/pr+, HER2-. Not uncommon. My onc is treating with targeted therapy. I am on Ibrance and ARV471 which is a clinical trial drug replacing flu descent. I am stable with one small tumor on left breast.

I just read about the ARV471. How long have you been MBC lobular. I’m the same with bone Mets. Looks like you’re having good results with the clinical trial

I started on ARV 471 with Ibrance in Dec. I will start my 6 cycle this month. If I could just do the trial med I would be happy as the side effects on Ibrance are not nice. I was diagnosed with ILC in 2013 then again in 2017, but not metastatic, then in 2021 it Shaw’s up in small nodules on my chest and was diagnosed as metastatic.

Hello. I am 25 years since initial bc diagnosis and 5 since MBC diagnosis. Been on Ibrance and letrozole with Xgeva or Zometa. Recently had to have four spots treated which were squamous cell melanomas. For the past year or two I have been breaking out with hives occasionally. My allergist keeps adding more drugs to treat it. My latest scans showed a slight progression in my bones. I will be continuing on Ibrance and checking again in four months. Very worrisome but trying to stay positive. My best wishes to all of you!

Hello caw517,

I have a few skin metastases which are small nodules in my neck, armpits, arms and back. I have not noticed any elsewhere. I had one removed last year at the back of my neck because my GP agreed that it was a blocked oil gland at the base of a hair. It was biopsied and found to be the same breast cancer (ER+ HER2-) I have in my skeleton, lungs, liver, etc.

I have not had specific treatment for skin metastases. My understanding is that they are relatively harmless - simply small lumps unlikely to change or spread by themselves.

Congratulations on the six years! I'm in year four now, and hoping for several more. My CA 15-3 is now as low as it has ever been (45 from a high of 190), and my CT scans indicate some shrinkage of larger tumours. I've been taking ribociclib and letrozole since November.

Warm wishes,

Cindy

Hi, I had skin Mets that started running along my scar where I had the mastectomy. They then started showing up on my shoulder and then a place on my back. They spread in a matter of 3 months or so (very quickly). I am Her2 + however the biopsy of the skin was triple negative. Therefore my onc started me on abraxane and Keytruda. I was already on herceptin and perjeta. He stopped the perjeta. My skin lesions are gone and my dr says my cancer is under control. My ct scans are clear. Wishing you the best with your treatment.
