I have been taking letrozole for a week now and noticed over the last few days that I sometimes have what I would describe as a chemically taste in my mouth and if I sniff I can smell it too. Has anyone else experienced this?
I'm on herceptin and perjeta infusions also and finished taxotere chemo 3 weeks ago. Thank you.
I’ve been on letrozole for 27 months and I don’t recall ever having a chemical taste in my mouth. Have you checked the leaflet that comes with your prescription to see if this is a possible side effect?
I’m wondering whether the chemotherapy might be responsible for the bad taste in your mouth as it works its way out of your system? I would call your oncologist or oncology nurses and see if they can shed some light on the situation. I hope it goes away, as I imagine it must be quite an unpleasant sensation.

I did read the leaflet and also had a quick Google, it just says incidence not known. It likely is the infusions I guess or perhaps chemo like you mention.

Hopefully this side effect will soon pass. It must make it hard to enjoy your food when you have a chemical taste in your mouth.
I have not experienced any changes in taste or smell. I take Letrozole and Ibrance. The chemical taste might be the result of the combination of drugs you are taking. But you should definitely ask your Oncologist. All the best to a healing journey. Marlene
I am on Letrozole and have not noticed a metallic taste. I did see the ladies on Instagram called secondary sisters talking about this problem with chemo. They suggested the sourest sweets you can tolerate. It seemed like it really helped them.
