I’m 4 months into treatment with Ibrance and Letrozole, tumours showing signs of reduction but know this treatment isn’t a ‘cure’. Looking at starting CBD and was wondering how others had faired with this on the same meds . . I have heard different opinions.
Difficult to discuss with my Oncologist. . . With living in the UK this is not looked upon the same as in the USA for example.
Any comments would be appreciated . . . Many thanks 🙏

I am three months in with Ibrance Letrozole and the first couple days of the third month was tough, feeling better now, however, I still have fluid building up in my lung.
I take CBD oil with a tincture at bedtime under my tongue. It helps manage my anxiety over MBC. My Boston oncologist is fine with that.
Marijuana is legal in MA. I went to the local dispensary and explained my situation to the service person. I don’t like the high sensation so we talked and found a dosage that makes sense for me. You can do the same. For what it’s worth, MA only recently made it legal for recreational purposes. I had a doctors note that allowed me to buy the medical marijuana. I’m told that is still the way to go in order to get a better price and wider selection.

Also, this is pretty much DIY since marijuana is still illegal nationally. All the doc gave me was s o script to get medical marijuana. They don’t tell you dosage 3etc. That’s why you need to know your body, what your past experience is with marijuana, and talk with a knowledgeable service person. They see folks with all kinds of medical issues and are very considerate. But, they are not medical people so you need to make your own decisions after hearing what they say. Good luck!
I'm using CBD along with my Ibrance with my doctors blessings. It certainly helps me with depression, I rest better, use it for pain and I'm also using pure oil twice daily. I'll have my first follow up scan in April, so we'll see if things are all working together like they should! There are literally new discoveries daily with potential full cure, so hold on! My Oncologist told me that triple negative breast cancer is now controllable and possibly curable - something that was a fast death sentence just a year ago! So I keep praying for the same with HER2 negative - currently difficult to treat. The Israeli scientists believe they've found a cure for certain cancers and expect to release the meds in a year! All great news!
My Oncologist was stunned at the amount of healing in my new scan! I have two little tiny spots lighting up - one on a rib and one on my chest wall. I was told to continue to do whatever I'm doing to heal and I'll be scanned again in 3 months. I'm doing 7/7 days of Ibrance 100 mg. and scattered amount of my inhibitor because of my RA flaring up. My Oncologist smiled at the scan - and he never smiles - always very serious!
CBD without THC is legal in the UK you can buy it online Charlottes web is supposed to be good. It won’t actually kill the cancer cells unless it has THC in. My onc was up for the CBD but not THC as it’s illegal. There is so much annecdotal evidence online of people curing cancer with cannabis oil. You should look up Rick Simpson. I don’t think it should be mixed with too many strong meds though x
I'm on Letrozole, Ibrance and Zometa infusions. Original diagnosis in 2006 and MBC in 2017. I began CBD oil about a month ago. I'm not sure that it works as I have little pain since my back surgery to remove vertebrae with lesions. My issues stem from severe constipation. I was hoping that the CBD oil would help with that. I'm uncertain that it does. I have slept better though. Before adding CBD oil, I did speak with my oncologist and they stated that there is not evidence that it can help with our issues, but it also did not pose a threat either.
I take Zofran as needed for nausea. However you pose a good question. Sadly I don’t think that is the cause of my constipation. I’ve always had issues, I guess I just recognize them more often now. Thanks for your reply.
Have you tries Cascara Sagrada bark for constipation? My hubby has Parkinson's which causes very severe issues with a slow-moving digestive system and that is about all that will help him. I buy it by the 1/2 lb and fill him the capsules.
It's very easily obtainable. I bought the powder on e-bay. I've seen the capsules in Walmart and K-mart and Target. You can also find bloodroot powder on e-bay which I take religiously for helping stop cancer from spreading. Never take more then 90 mgs of bloodroot at a time. I called Zenith Health who sells blood root capsules on Amazon and got that caution from them. I mix it with licorice root plus tumeric to make it all the more easy on the stomach. Never had a problem and have been taking for years. i'm sure you gals are ready to kick me off of here with my bright ideas, but consider I have not ever felt sick for the last 4.5 years with my natural methods and so far the only mets I have been told I have is a hot lymph node. I keep hoping it was mistake, since the Pet scan could not see it , only an MRI detected it a year ago. My doctor is not very happy with me for refusing the surgery, radiation and chemo so I don't get as much of the monitoring as I would like. i wandered on here from the Parkinson's forum , which my hubby has, out of interest in breast cancer which runs in our family and trying to find out what people are doing to fight it that I don't know about. I thought I would find out something to help my sister who is having a big problem with lymph-edema because of a radical mastectomy and many of her lymph nodes removed.
When I first started Ibrance I was in bed for almost 2 months. The pain all over was terrible. But it has since subsided about 95%. I’m in my six month with ibrance Hang in there. It got better for me and hopefully will do the same for you. My doc said pain means it’s working.
CBD worked very well for me when I was in terrible pain the first couple of months. I was given OxyContin to take for pain but got very sick from it the first time I took it. Didn’t take it again instead used CBD oil with good results. The pain was lessened and my depression was lessened. I used 4 x 4 Because I like the high feeling. Some people use 8 to 1 and there’s one to one. Maybe others can give you more useful advice. Good luck
I’ve used the CBO oil too. I also use cannabis in a cartridge to vape. It’s very mild but takes the edge off the pain. I have a medical marijuana card, and it’s legal in many cities now.
Do you mean CBD or the actual Cannabis? What does 4X4 mean? equal parts of THC and CBD? If it has any THC at all it is the real thing made from Cannabis and not CBD made out of hemp
Could you possible get some with THC? It is necessary to kill cancer, to also have THC. I only take it at night since I don't like to feel weird even though the dispensary directions are for every 6 hours. The CBD makes for stress relieve and more positive mood, but people are reporting that it is not very effective for strong pain.
Hi, did you start taking CB oil and if so what one do you take. I also live in the UK and have stomach and bone Mets, I get a lot of stomach pain. It was suggested I take CB oil to help with the pain. Can get loads of CB oils on Amazon, this country only allows .2 the. Just wondered if you are actually using it now.
Hi I too am on the same meds as you and as you say it’s not a cure and have been looking at cbd myself but have no one to talk to about it as I am in the UK too and my onc wouldn’t even hear about homeopathy . I have watched a lot of talks on it but everything is in America. I wish someone in England could give us information .
Hi My name is Hannah. I'm no good expert but I have lived in California and Now New York here in America. I have found some support groups on Facebook if you have it to be very helpful. You may even consider making the oil yourself if you need to. Today I came across this chart which shows the different sub divisions of breast cancer and how they react to the oil over a certain amount of mg. I can post it here and my email is hmckellar22@gmail.com.
This is the link. It has a downloadable PDF so you can view it in a organized way just scroll to the bottom. It also mentions how the tinctures react to certain medications like ibrance.
Also for the support groups on Facebook. Trust me they are so helpful. Just type is breast cancer and cannabis. You will find one come up as fighting breast cancer with cannabis and many others.
