I'm Cheryl. I currently live in Staten Island. I was originally diagnosed with DCIS in 2008. Double mastectomy and Tamoxifen. Spread to axillary lymph nodes in late 2009. Chemo and radiation. Mets to spine and liver in 2013. Back on chemo, switch to anastazole. Mets to brain in June 2016. Now on Kadcyla and Exemestane.

Hi. I am on the same medications and have been since October 2016. Just got my first scan results December 23 and it showed "No active Cancer ". It was a wonderful Christmas. Praying for you to have great success too.

Hi Cheryl!

I was diagnosed in July 2016. So I'm fairly new to this. I had bone mets which we are still treating with Zometa for 1-2 years and Herceptin every 3 weeks indefinitely. And Tamoxifen pills daily for 10 years I think...lol I hope it works...

Seeing all that you've gone through gives me hope that I can do it too!

Stay strong! Happy New Years to u too!

Happy New Year to you too! I'm sure you'll be around for quite a while-the docs have lots of choices and more coming about all the time. My 2013 chemo wasn't around in 2010

Welcome to the SHARE Metastatic Breast Cancer Community Here you will get information and support that you need to carry you through treatment. The Kadcyla and Exemestane. combo is a good combination In clinic trials many women became progression- free. There is a SHARE who had a similar diagnosis who is on vacation now but I will ask her to reply to your post when she gets from vacation

I was on Kadcyla for 22 months and it worked great for me. The only side effect that I had was a headache about 3 days after treatment. Good luck!

New drugs come on the market somewhat regularly, which is good for us. My cancer has spread to my lung and brain. Good luck with your combo.

What did/are you doing for brain mets? I had stereotactic radial gamma knife surgery and follow up MRI every three months.

I had a craniotomy and then five dosages of stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) to the tumor bed. I had to wait about two months after the surgery to have that area of my brain radiated. I also have MRI follow-up.
