Hello, reporting after the first 8 weeks of taking Cyclophosphamide 100mg every day with Letrazole 50mg ( my choice to continue this). I am ER+HER-. liver and bone mets. enlarged lymph nodes in neck. Exhausted endochrine options and now on oral chemo options. I immediately felt better on this drug after Capecitebine failed. First scan showed liver mets decreasing in size (whoop whoop!) first time this has happened.. (some static reports over the last 2 years.) 30mm - 27mm and 29 - 22mm, no new growths and lymph nodes smaller. Bones haven't shown any change since diagnosis. Oncologist surprised. Some background.... I had been talking to him about metronomic dosing and as Christmas was approaching, we decided to give this a try before IV chemo - even though it is usually tried after first IV chemo. It is an old IV drug which has more recently been used as an oral daily dose. It may not last, often things seem to work well initially... but it may...!!

Cyclophosphamide - metronomic chemo/ Good News
Ah, great, delighted for you! It could be just what your particular brand of C responds to - all the best!
I am on 50 mg daily cyclophosphamide capsule for ovarian cancer with an infusion of Avastin every 3 weeks. I was not responding to the Avastin alone. The oncologist thought a low dose Chemo would keep my nodules at bay. We shall see. Do you have any side effects with 100 mgs?
hello, the side effects are very small compared to some of the things I have taken. Slightly dry hands and feet, small bladder twinges occasionally and occasional stomach pain ( I think carrying on from the last thing I took) Sometimes tired, but generally very good. I was warned to drink enough fluids to rinse my bladder out. You?
So happy for your good news. Hoping you continue to have good results on this treatment especially if the side effects are minimal. Sending hugs.
So happy for you! Continued success!
That's terrific that your liver mets are reduced in size! What was the effect on your liver enyzmes? Were they elevated before or after? What about your cancer markers? I ask all this because I too have liver mets which may need treatment in the future. Thanks for any info you are able to provide.
Hugs,
Cindy
Thanks for sharing. I also have liver Mets but didn’t realize that Cyclophosphamide came in oral form. Hope the tablets are not big because I have trouble swallowing big pills. I am on Navelbine oral at the moment and it is working. But it’s very good to know that there is another oral option before IV chemo. Maria
Thank you.
