Hello guys Tonight on Channel 5 there's a programme called RLS (The New Cure) which is a follow up from the show in2017

I'm going to be watching it. Don't know if anyone else does but I just I d tell you all anyway. Apparently it's a repeat, - I don't remember it being on the first time

Well if it's like the last one I saw last year it didn't have any cures and showed the worst cases of RLS...and with no cure! But will wait and see...but taking strong medication is not the answer?? Too many side effects...Think it's some kind of vitamin deficiency or something...need to find out the cause of RLS...

Unfortunately for some of us strong medication is the only thing left to us as our severe RLS has not responded to other medications. In my case I had really bad side effects. I take oxycodone at present. I hate having to take it but nothing else has worked. It gives me some relief and very little side effects.

OK I hope it sorts itself out -good luck

Interested in knowing which cream works? I bought some ginger oil for my lymphodema but that doesn't help at all...

Hello Ally I use Balneum Cream -which really is only for skin conditions & it works for me. I have to make the important point though whenever I mention it that it may not be for everyone because everyone's skin is different & there could be a risk of negative reactions so its up to you whether you wish to try it but I have to say that you do so at your own risk

Thanks for that information, Sara. I will try it very carefully if it's available here in UK...like the idea of a cream but agree it could cause reaction. I'm using slow release iron, folic acid, magnesium, copper bracelets....bit it's only really bad if I'm watching TV , film, on long journey or just bored...reduced alcohol, fizzy drinks etc. Inherited from my mother but no-one else in my family ...sister, children seems to have RLS thankfully. Will let you know how I get on...glad it works for you. Alison

Hi It is available in the UK -I have it on prescription you can buy it from most chemists over the counter I must stress again that you are doing so at your own risk

I really dont know how I got it -theres no history of it in my family -unless theres history of it in family I dont know -not a clue

good luck with it

Have ordered the cream from Amazon...will use it carefully and let you know...have RLS tonight and have been checking online but there's still no actual cure...so frustrating.

Hi Ally. Ok fine but please remember -thats only what I use because it was prescribed for me by my doctor & you are using it at your own risk

Please remember also that this wasnt my suggestion to you it was just me saying that is what I use & works for me

a small point - Yu would've been better off buying it from the chemist whether it be your local or the ones in the big stores

I NEVER!!!!!! buy any medication no the internet no matter how popular & reliant the site - the manufacture receipe might not be the same & could have consequences for your skin

I remember that a friend of mine bought some sort of medicine that was nomally readily available in the chemist but because they had sold out she bought it online & it made her ill because the recipe (that it was made of was different ) & it made her ill

I wish you luck with it

This cream is for dry skin....do not worry...I am aware of risks but won't blame you in any way if it doesn't help or I have a reaction...😊

Hi

When I first joined this site I mentioned it a lot +one of the administrators pointed out that I should be careful because it might not be suitable for everyone's skin +could have negative effects (she was quite correct to point that out)

So I decided that if I was going to mention it then I felt it my duty to make people aware +say it works for me +may not necessarily be for everyone

It’s just an over the counter dry skin cream, I don’t think you need all the disclaimers! 😊

Hi

An administrator messaged me a while ago for continually suggesting it to people +the reason why that's when I decided that if people were mentioning their medications for RLS I d mention mine +say that it wasn't for everyone.

It's to cover me I suppose

Yes it’s a repeat of a terrible, misleading programme

Hi OMG I vaguely remember now you say it -was this the episode we signed a petition to complain to Ofcom?

It was on a few months ago, this is a repeat.

It caused a great deal of anticipation before it was broadcast, and a great deal of disappointment, and anger when it was shown.

Hi

Now you all say that -Wasnt this the episode when we all complaind to Ofcom over it

Gmc54 in reply toSara_2611

Yes, and I for one am livid they repeated it! 😡

in reply toSara_2611

The very same

Sara_2611 profile image
Sara_2611 in reply to

Ofcom obviously still found reason to repeat it Is it worth all of us complaining to Ofcom again for broadcasting it again or not

Sara_2611 profile image
Sara_2611 in reply to

Yes as I said I remember now its ridiculous to show it again - all it would take is for someone who has never seen it who didnt see anything misleading about it

Not seen it yet, but my hubby recorded it for me.

First off, there is no cure for RLS that l know of and secondly l am hoping it isn’t a repeat of the farcical program we were subjected to by Chanel 5 a while ago.

If it does turn out to be the same stupid nonsense again, ie, lady who couldn’t sit through her pedicure, the man who shut his feet in the door, the lady with the ignorant husband. Then l for one will complain again, as it portrays people with RLS as fruit loops and did nothing to help anyone understand just how awful this condition is.

Sara please let me know what the show said about RLS. I missed it

Sara_2611 in reply to1234kids

It was telling the stories of.people who were suffering with it+the effects it was having on their lives +relationships

The cameras were zooming in on these people's legs

One of the men in it he was a pensioner who resorted to desperate attempts to get some comfort which included putting his feet at the bottom of the oven +injuring his feet

See if it's on youtube
