I think worth watching once, but that is only to see where a good docu could have been made!
I agree, it was no help at all. I have had horrendous RLS for 14 years. I have found that taking Floradix iron supplement every day has really helped
That's interesting about the Floradix. You are the second person I know to get relief with that particular type of iron. I'm an iron snob, my money is on ferrous bisglycinate.
Oral iron for RLS is highly under-rated by not only doctors but even the RLS community. I truly believe it should be the first line of defense which can then be followed by other treatments if it alone does not do the trick. I'm at the point where I only take the iron as needed since it provides relief of symptoms within one hour and will last the whole night. I am not alone, there are numerous people on here who get night to night relief with the iron much as someone would a pain med.
Here's the problem that I have found with iron is that people on anti-depressants and certain other medications (or conditions) do not seem to be helped by the iron or at least not the normal dose. I wish someone would come up with a chart where if you're taking X amount of an SSRI you need X amount of iron.
I know that when I was taking 1mg of melatonin I needed 25mg of the ferrous bisglycinate every night. When I upped the melatonin to 3mg I needed 50 mg of the ferrous bisglycinate to achieve complete relief of symptoms of restless BODY - unwittingly caused by the melatonin.
Well thanks for sharing.
I have found magnesium carbonate helpful in the form of an over the counter remedy for indigestion. The adult needs approx. 340mg a day. Most people don't ask for a full range of vitamin and mineral levels tests. Vitamin B12 and ferritin and iron levels, Vitamin D and calcium levels, and vitamin K are vital to metabolism, and if you have hypocalcaemia or hypercalcaemia, you may get RLS. Potassium and sodium levels might also affect your kidneys and urine so may be we should ask for more tests. Muscles and twitching should receive attention by your GP but it is pot luck sometimes whether you can track it down with the tests you need.
was well worth watching o.....k no mention what might cause it and the whole.............. range of different meds that would have took up the whole program so to be honest mentioning all the different meds would have been a waste of time going through as we all know what works for one doesn't always work for another but.... BUT at the end of the day RLS has now been shown for what an awful thing it is to have and has now been given the public awareness we all wanted at the end of the day soooooo come on guys stop moaning about what it didn't show about meds to many to mention it got air time which is a damn sight more than it got a few days ago before the program was aired .
