Getting of tramodol
Hi,
Sorry I can't help you on this case but Just wanted to say good luck...
Stay strong!
B.
Thank you
Hi beady I take 1 of those a day but only been on them for few months sorry , will be interested in how you get on , as might have same problem at some stage what else are you taking
I was on Tramadol for extreme pain in my hips. After I had a replacement hip I stopped the Tramadol because the pain had gone. I then started to climb the walls, not sleeping, itching, etc. I work in mental health, and this seemed like people going 'cold turkey'. It then occurred to me (and I felt stupid for not realising) that Tramadol is an opiate... same as methadone... and that I had become addicted. It took 3 weeks to wean myself off, cutting down a little at a time. The GP claimed that it was not addictive... but there's plenty of evidence on the internet that it is... and my experience tells me that it definitely is.
Sorry you are struggling beady3 but can't help as Tramadol is working wonders for me. Can I ask why you want to come off them? Are they not working anymore? Good luck.
Hi cicek well I think 3 Tramodol and 2mg pach should give me more good night than I get which is prob 1 a week I will chat to doc next week
I was on 150mg of it twice a day and got p1ssed off with it as I didn't think it was doing anything and stopped dead. There followed a good month of really bad rebound RLS and pain and with a misdirected reference to a pain clinic I spent a year in agony with the RLS running wild.
If I were in your shoes I would drop the middle of the day tablet, (assuming you are taking it at 3 separate times) spend a while at this level - until you can tolerate it then I would drop the morning one and keep like that until I can tolerate it. Then when I tolerate the last pill nightly I would take it on alternating nights before finally stopping. It takes a lot longer to do it that way but has much less discomfort.
Fair play for stopping congrats and hope your journey off them is smooth and withdrawal free
Hi
Like you I thought with the other meds I was on the Tramadol (actually Tramulief in my case) wasn't doing much. I was on 100mg twice a day. For the first day after stopping I didn't notice much difference but the next day!! My legs would not stop moving so finally at 1.00am I took another 100mg. After a while my legs settled down and I have been back to the 200mg since. I hope your experience is better than mine!
Yes, my doctor titrated me down by doing one pill less on one dose every other day, but not on all doses at once. I was on the same as you, then cut out morning dose every other day for 2 weeks, then one every two days in that same morning dose, etc. once you are off that dose. Then begin reducing afternoon or early evening dose, etc., then start reducing last dose of the day, until you are off all doses. Only thing tramadol did for me was make me sleepy. Good luck.
Have been thro' Gabapentin and DA's which all stopped working and found Tramadol 'cured' me for a couple of years. Now I am getting the old symptoms back (up twice a night with arms and legs affected) so like you need to think about what is next. I am on 2x50mg Tramadol at 8.00pm and have taken an additional 50mg during the night when desperate. I need to think about an alternative before I start to wean off but what is there? Loathe to increase Tramadol after augmenting on DA's. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
