Im glad you found some relise by incresing your tablets. Isnt tramodol addictive?

beady3 profile image
beady3 in reply to annakalia

If we have to keep upping our tabs they must all be addictive, when on Requip I went from 2 tabs to 8 best wishes

Yes tramadol is very addictive, it is now a controled

Drug

But so are most of the tablets we take for pain, who

Cares if it works and you get your life back, your doctor

Will help you come off them when the time come

Tramadol is best taken with one paracetmol it works

Much better,

Myself I take slow release tramadol, which suits me as I

Nurse in a prison and could not take in 50mg tramadol

Also it works better.

I hope you get some release from your medication, and don't worry about being addicted to medication it's better than pain

Hi Viv. Can you give me some details on taking tramadol and paracetamol together. I have been on tramadol for 8 years but never been told about taking paracetamol as well. Many thanks. Paul

Hi there ,are you doing ok on Tramodol,do you have any probs,I was wondering about the paracetamol hope we will get an answer We had visitors and I was late taking tab so am suffering am I stupid yes Beady 3

in reply to beady3

I was told at the pain clinic the two together work better I suppose its having two different types of painkiller working for you as they each work in a different way maybe on different pain killing pathways. My GP surgery wont even prescribe Tramadol without paracetamol.I know this because I said I would buy my own paracetamol but they refused to prescribe Tramadol without paracetamol.

Your a pal Kim do you think I should a para with a Tram it might help. You only speak to our docs they try to sort you out on the phone so I try to get myself sorted Hope you are ok x

in reply to beady3

Well I cant tell you what to take Beady but if it was me I would take 2 paracetamol with the tramadol .Sadly tramadol only worked for ONE night for me! I am doing ok thanks x

Well from now it's two paras thanks will keep you posted

in reply to beady3

Hope it soon settles for you tonight, it soon lets us know if we late with meds

in reply to Spanner

Tramadol just works better with paracetmol

There is a limit on the amount of paracetmol

You can take in a day 8 no more and of course not in one go, but you know that I'm sure.

Take one paracetmol with your tramadol, see

How you think that is for you.

as I have already said I take the slow release

Tramadol 200mg morning

200mg tramadol before bed the bedtime one

I take two paracetmol as well as it helps me

Sleep

If you just take the 50mg just try the one paracetmol and see what you think even

If you take 100mg you can have one tablet

Iif that make no differience to your pain try

Two paracetmol, it will do you no harm it

Just works better together.

If you are worried about this ask your

Chemist or better still your doctor

Good luck.

There is no magic pill I'm afraid, even morphine

Does not take it all away, as long as the pills

Work and help you a little cope a little better

in reply to

If you find it works for you ask your

Doctor to prescribe it as it gets a bit

Expensive other wise

I hope you understand my ramblings

Take up to two tablets regardless of the

Tramadol you are on.

But start with one

Many thanks. I'm also on slow release but often find it looses effectiveness quickly and i have to take a 50mg for quick relief. So will try the paracetamol mix. Paul x

Did your doctor tell you to take 3 tramadol in one go

That's 150mg you would be better off if this is the slow

Release ones

Thanks for reply. I take 1 tab 50 mg 3 times a day I will see how I get on then think about slow release xx

the reason i asked was because ive been reluctant to ask for them as my freind has been on them and she said that they were highly addictive and she felt as though they were more like a sleeping aid and pain killer. Dont mind me i just dont know much about tramadol can you give me some advice on it?

Hi there,I can only tell you what I have success on. I have had rls for 45 yrs got worse as years went on,so as you can imagine I have had many tabs and I can honestly say Tramodol have been the best from the first tab I took,it's just I now need to up them to 3 instead of 2 ,but that's how it's allways been that's why one has to change because we go to the limet. The patch didn't help me at all but some folks It does and that's how it goes, I think it is a pain killer not a Dophamine. Let me know June x

They are highly addictive, trigger RLS and withdrawal is horrendous I spent 3 days in a hot bath, running nose etc, felt as though I was coming off heroin.

Hi Beady, not doing too well as legs have been playing up especially early morning about 4:00am so have to get up and get the p[ll going. It's now 4;30 pm in afternoon and I can feel the legs starting to do the Tango so will be popping another 2x50 gramm pills so hopefully they will be OK for tonight. My dose at the moment is averaging 200 mg per day so still within the limit but how long for I do not know. How you doing? by what I read you are doing pretty well so keep it up but you may need to up your dose in the next few week. Keep smiling babes, Love Blokie.

Tramadol can be addictive, BUT as long as you keep to the dose prescribed by your doctor you should be fine. The leaflet should also give you information on the highest dose to take. Which i believe is 2 of the 50mg every 4 hrs. Tramadol can cause augmentation for SOME people. So, be aware of that. I cant take the 50mg Tramadol as it makes me extremely sick. I am taking a lower type dose at the moment, which is 37.5mgTramadol which has paracetamol added to it. I take two of those in the evening + half a Pramipexole. If my legs start feeling angst in the afternoon i take one of the lower dose Tramadol's. The Tramadol i take you can only take 2 of them every 6 hrs because of having the paracetamol in them. And i am sure most of us know that we have to be careful of not over dosing on paracetamol.

Hi everyone I have been reading your comments on Tramadol. I take 50mg Tramadol 4 times a day, also 4 mg Ropinirole slow release in the evening and just started Clonazepam 500micrgrams at night to help me sleep. It's now 2.15am so you can tell nothing is working. Have been trying tabs of all kinds for over 10 years don't know what to do next. I only know that I can't give up - just have to keep trying otherwise this awful thing will beast me. Must admit I get mad when people say "it must be such a nuisance". Am shattered so going to try to get some sleep now- hope you are all tucked up ! Camper queen.

Hi there am tucked up but deffenatly not assleep hope I get some befor morn. I don't tell anyone about my rls ,my sister in law of 43 yrs happend to be at our house when leg was going she said she had never heard of it. They havn't got a clue have they. You would think all those tabs you take would make life easier. Happy hours xx

So sorry to hear you're having so much difficulty. Any chance ropinerol is making things worse instead of better? It seems those dopamine agonists sooner or later become part of the problem instead of the solution. When tramadol and mirapex and requip and nupro patch and horizant and gabapentin and klonopin and cymbalta and amitrypteline and baclofen and ambien and methadone and codeine and morphine didn't work for me, I found great relief with 15 mg oxycodone (immediate release). Hope you find something soon that works for you.

in reply to camperqueen

I will say the same as ookla, the 4mg Ropinerole is most likely causing augmentation, and no matter what else you take the augmentation wont go away. Are you having worse symptoms from the RLS, is it worse during the day, and at night.

Hi everyone, I started Maxitram 50mg to start with, early days as I only started them last night, I slept well and got up feeling quite a bit better this morning, so fingers crossed.

Hi nparks hope your new tab will be good at least it's a good start, how long have you had rls? Beady 3

Watch the tramadol - I still take 3 a day but ened up taking 10-12 with horrific side effects. The withdrawal back to 3 was horrendous. I think the best advise is take as low a dose of anything that you can get away with. More tends to cause augmentation.
