Can anyone tell me when they say a tab is addictive is it that you want more or need more, when you say addictive it's as if you enjoy taking them and want more. When I was on Requip Xl I started on 2mg and finished up taking 8 mg I wouldn't say I was addicted I just needed then. Beady 3 x
Tramodol: Can anyone tell me when they... - Restless Legs Syn...
Tramodol
Tramodol are fine until you start getting sickness plus they are addictive I hate the bloody things
addictive only if you do not take as prescribed.
Yea you know me I take my medication all wrong Iv got to lean about my body more
Erona, hopefully if you take your meds correctly, they will give you the relief you need. All meds are strong stuff, so we need to treat them with respect and take them as prescribed. And listen to our bodies and know if the meds are not for you.
I only take lorazepam now in in constant pain but at least I can sleep I don't want too take any drugs that give you cold turkey xx spell Erona backwards change the I to a d xxx
O to a d I mean
Yes, Erona, i know what it spells backward, with the letter change. We have spoken before when you were on the forum..
Ok I thought you knew thank you fora you kind advise
When a drug is addictive you will get sick if you stop takng them without very slow withdraw or something else to take instead. When yuo want more and more of a drug it is habituation. Requip is not a drug that make you addictive. Requip and many other drugs can give you augmentation: if you highen the dose you will get more and more issues from the rls.
Tolerance is when you need a higher dose to get the same effect (i. e. taking 100 mg of tramadol when 50 mg used to be enough)
Addiction is craving more and more for no good reason (i. e. taking 100 mg of tramadol to get high)
Dependence is needing it to function properly (i. e. taking 100 mg of tramadol to get to sleep)
I couldnt have said it better ookla.
Excellent, ookla! The Addiction vs Tolerance (or dependence) discussion is one that pops up every day on some group. So, now I do not have to type it either! Thank you, a perfect, simple explanation.
Tramodol gives you cold turkey and makes me itchy all over
I am the same way. What do i care if the doc thinks I am addicted to something. I view addiction the same as you. I never took any recreational drugs and never felt high. A little sleepy but not high.
I have found if i ever let the RLS start no matter how much of whatever drug I take it won't stop so it looks like I will be up most of the night with my right leg jumping all around and some discomfort in my left.
The dopamine meds when you start to need more to get relief is augmentation, our RLS symptoms start earlier in the day and can affect other parts of our body, its not addiction. A big difference.
Opiates can be addictive, but if you only take what is allowed, then you should be fine. It tells you in the leaflet what you are allowed to take in any 24 hrs. Its when you have to need more and more above what the leaflet says because you are craving it, a bit like craving to have a cigarette, if you are a smoker you would understand. You are not taking the opiate for relief anymore, you are craving it, addiction.
For any of us who take any med for RLS relief, we become dependant on them. We need them to sleep.
Tolerance, is we have got used to the med and need more to get relief. But with tolerance, and having RLS, is we dont have worse symptoms, the med has just stopped working.
I started needing more and more and knew exactly when they were due. I took them everywhere with me. But the key for me was that my pain was worse and I started getting more pains in different places. But you need to remember everyone is different - some people are fine.
