Tramodol: Hi gang,is there anyone on... - Restless Legs Syn...
Tramodol
Hi Beady3, I have been on Tramodol for the last five years specifically for Restless Legs though I had the most pain/discomfort in both arms from childhood. In those days (I'm 65 now) it was diagnosed as St. Vitus Dance or just being fidgety. I would basically cry myself to sleep ( more like whimper so as not to wake the household ) culminating in me being a very tired boy who more often than not would drop to sleep in class.
Tramodol has the reverse effect on me so now I have to take sleeping tablets to get some sleep though I try to cope on just half a sleeping pill each night. Also, unlike you, I take the maximum dose of Tramoldol which is 200mg x 2, twice per day. Cutting the dose down to 150mg tablets immediately flares up my arms again and missing a dose will do the same until around 90 minutes after taking the missed tablets. I always know after about 5 hours that I have missed taking my dose of Tramodol.
Sorry I cannot help you as our doses are so different but I am sure some Member will reply who is better equipped to answer your questions. Kind regards.
Thanks for reply barried ,I know we are all different but it's nice to see what others are doing. Do you ever see doc about your Tramodol or do you just keep getting prescription ,you. Have been on them a long time havn't you this is my 3week and so far results are great Beady 3.
Hi Beady 3
I see my Doctor every three months for prescriptions. He always takes my blood pressure and stethoscopes my chest and back and sends me for tests at the specialists once a year, he gets a copy of the results so he has all the information he needs to prescribe for my Restless Legs, Arthritis, Bronchitis and Cramps medications. I also use the slow release Tramodol. Yes, I have been on them for a long time but to date they are doing the job in keeping the pain at bay.
Hope you get a few more on target replies.
Best of luck to you.

have you tried slow release tramodol ? Not just me but others on my pain course tried it successfully - worth a punt !
Hi Beady
Slow release is the answer. Also mild stetches, 5 repetitions just to get blood flowing.
I was on 50 mg of tramadol for three months, then 100 mg for another three months. Instead of making me sleepy, it actually gave me insomnia. I'm on oxycodone now, debating whether or not to go back to tramadol.
Hi Beady3, not had any problems dropping off to sleep but do feel tired at times. Taking 100mg in morning and usually another 100mg about 5pm in afternoon, this usually sees me through the evening and during the night. But sometimes I might wake up about 4am if I have a bad night. Hope this helps....Blokie.
I have been on them for about 3 years, could even be longer! Not for RLS but arthritis. I was exactly like you, falling asleep but this gradually wore off after a while. Ended increasing them from 4 a day to 10 or 12 a day with terrible side effects worse than the original and addicted. I have managed to get them down to 4 again. They are an opiate and highly addictive. Also 2 research trials at a sleep clinic in Spain identified tramadol as one of the drugs that triggered RLS off. But at the end of the day we are all different and you have to find out what works for you. Take care.
Hi there, I've been on tramadol for 7 years using a combination of slow release and standard fast acting tablets. Like a lot of other people here I get terrible insomnia for which I use clonazapam in very low doses. I have seen various consultants and tried most available drugs but tramadol is the only thing that helps me relax.
