Tramodol: Can anyone tell me if they... - Restless Legs Syn...
Tramodol
Hi Beady. Why are you coming off Tramadol??
My legs are so much better now I just want to cut the tabs from 100mg to 50 mg
So pleased to hear that. I take 200 mg a day but am starting to have problems again most day.
What sort of probs is it rls
Sorry Beady3 just seen this. My RLS is still not too bad but seems to be kicking in for 10 mins or so at any time. Rarely does it last very long and it's not getting any worse but not as good as it has been. I am taking Tramadol earlier now and that seems to be helping a little.
Beady i think if you reduce your Tramadol, your legs will start to play up again, Your legs are much better because the Tramadol is working well.
I came off Tramadol cold turkey. I went from 400mg a day to nothing. I was quite spaced out for the first few days and had a big increase in RLS symptoms as it was doing more for me than I thought it was.
The established wisdom is come off slowly - you get less side-effects and are more likely to continue coming off. Also for those who are taking higher than 400mg a day, (above recommend guidelines) if you stop abruptly you run the risk of seizures.
Good luck beady.
After reading a lot of old reports on coming off Tramodol I am scared stiff when you are on your own it's frightening
Oh Beady3! I feel for you. I have this situation also. Perhaps keep a cell phone handy and have someone you call once per day at a regular time just to say if you are ok. It doesn't remove the fear but at least one feels better knowing that you have tried to do something about it. It's practical but fear is something else and I wish for you the courage and resolve it may take to free your self of these wonderful though difficult drugs.
Beady love, you are only taking 100mg tramadol, so if you HAVE to reduce them to come off them then just stopping one pill 50mg shouldnt be tooo much trouble, then wait at least another week or two then stop your other 50mg pill. Most people are taking alot more than you so reducing a higher dose can be more a problem. I know its scary when living on your own, i am the same. But, if your legs are doing well on the tramadol, i dont understand why you want to come off it. I would think once you are off the tramadol, your legs will be on the go again. x
Thank you all so much for your replys ,I think I will stick with the 100mg as I am doing so well and I sure don't want to go back to where I was a year ago ,good luck to you all xx
I have had a sleeping problem for 3 yrs and then this sensation all over me about 18months ago I thought it was rls all over my body, my Dr says he doesn't know what it is. But no meds worked in fact they all made it worse. I had a shoulder operation about a year ago and they gave me tramadol for that and I found it helped me sleep and reduced the bad sensations..but the it started giving me side affects..and about an hrs after taking it it made the sensations worse for about 2 hours...so I decided to come off of them, it made me feel like I have been run over by a train for 2 weeks ..I started taking magnesium and potassium also prebiotic powder..it seemed to help but after a month it wasn't doing what I hoped it would so I tried 1 50mg tramadol with it and it has made my symptoms ease right off, I now and then can miss one night of tramadol and I still can sleep...I decided to see the Dr and tell him what I was doing..just to see if he might be able to work out if this is rls or anxiety, which is something I have never had before and I am 70 now..but the Dr went right against me taking the supplements..he hasn't been much help and he said again he didn't know what I had, but I did at last get him to say ok to blood tests,
Mickboy, to be diagnosed with RLS, you have to have all 5 parts of the criteria for RLS, the important part is having a urge to move your legs a urge you cant resist and to get some sort of relief then pacing can help. Does that sound like you.. ?
