Dont ever give up giving up
Jan, are you going to a stop smoking group like Dawn? Could be another route for you to explore. What have you done with the baccy you bought last night? Surely the craving had gone by the time you got to the shop? If you REALLY want this you've just got to grit your teeth, distract your mind and not give in. It's not really a monster, just a tiny, weeny, little white stick that you shove in your gob - could you imagine shoving in a HUGE monster?
Why don't you try gradually cutting down, it seems to be working for me. Less full cigarettes then half a cigarette it may just work. If not don't give up we have all tried numerous times before we get there.I am 60 and have been trying for the last ten years on and off but I am hopeful that this time it may work xx
You'll get there Jan, I've also tried lots of times, but never gave up, try to distract yourself when cravings come, I played stupid facebook games, which i normally wouldn't do, but it helped me to get past the craving, along with crossword puzzles, you'll find something to help you as well, just stay determined and remember your reasons for stopping, onwards and upwards from now on xx
Oh Jan, keep with it, you can be strong... we're all behind you. I've just eaten a lump of cheddar on a ryvita (apparently less calories than bread! ) to distract me.... Not the healthiest I know, but I guess better than baccie!! Big hugs xxxx
Jan, never give up giving up!! if you want to stop badly enough you'll do it. my only tip is lots of long walks, lots of chewing gum and when desperate have a bath or shower ...you can't smoke when youre wet!! We're all thinking of you..keep in touch.jane x
Am hoping so
