Migraine!!!: Help me please! I have stopped... - Quit Support
Migraine!!!
Hi there Doingwell and welcome to our community. Congratulations on taking the leap and managing to get to 6 days already. I have been trying to see if there's any comments about migraine but can't find anything. I do know that a headache is often a symptom of dehydration and if I get a headache the first thing I do is drink down a load of water and quite often the headache then goes away. It could be that you are a bit distracted at the moment with constantly thinking about your quit that you've forgotten to drink enough.
I'm sure someone else may come up with something else but please let us know how you get on because your experience may be able to help someone else in the future. Please come and join in the daily chat as a way to keep focussed and be more likely to stay quit long term and forever.
Good luck, Andi
Hi Doingwell, nice to see you here, i'm Pete erm i'm at work at the moment, so cant stay long but have found this, it might just help you.

Hi DoingWell,
A huge congratulations on making it through your first week, almost into the start of your 2nd week now!
Great advice given so far. It is likely to be nicotine withdrawal and should start getting better from thus point onwards. Plenty of water and fresh air, using breathing exercises should help too.
Are you using any form of NRT at all?
Obviously if you are worried, it may be worth speaking to your GP and letting her/him know that you've stopped smoking.
I hope you are feeling much better by the time you read this.
Stay strong, you've done brilliant so far
Hi!
Well done for giving up smoking!
I agree with Emjay. Withdrawal from lots of things that we get addicted to can give headaches. Don't give up or give in. If the headaches persist for longer than three months, discuss them with your doctor.
Hi, headaches are one of the possible withdrawal signs from quitting smoking.
Hi I have also found my migraine has returned with a vengeance. The only thing I can connect it with for me is maybe I tend to stress out about things and when I do I would reach for the cigs... I would suggest you see your doctor. Medication does not help with my migraine as once I have the vision disturbance there is no stopping it.... good luck....
