I had my first works Christmas Party out as a non smoker. I've worked for the same firm in 25 years and have always smoked (apart from when I was pregnant). It was a little chilly last night and was great not to have to be Social ?? and nip outside for a fag. It was also nice to see people and give them a peck on the cheek and not think," I must reek of fags", it's all very positive from Me and to be honest if someone last Christmas would have told me I would kick the habit in 2012 , I would not have believed it. Hi Helen Wonder, that sounds great - I've not had too much socialising yet but should be over the next couple of weeks and have that to look forward to. A year ago there's no way that I'd have predicted that I'd have given up either. It's only recently caught up with me about the terrible smell on other people. I think that as ex-smokers we are more sensitive to it than those who have never smoked.

Thats just great news gal, you've worked for the same firm for 25 Years, so that means that you had 24 Christmas parties as a smoker BUT this Year, you have partied as a non smoker, and sounds like you still enjoyed it so it can be done then

I've declined to our Christmas party this year, cos i just know that i would have too much to drink and, well I 'm not as strong as you are Helen

I know now that you are an ex smoker and a very merry Christmas to you and your family tooooooooooooooo

Well done re the positivity and the not smoking Helen! I've been to a few Christmas do's, but fortunately the friends and colleagues I was with don't smoke. I haven't been tempted to smoke whilst out socialising, but have had a few thoughts of smoking at ridiculous times, but I haven't let it get the better of me and the urges went after a few minutes. It was 15 weeks for me yesterday!

I've been busy this weekend, and now having some chill time. Have friends round Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights this week, and am out on Friday night. Am working Saturday, but am off then until the 27th! Oh yes! Out for Christmas lunch, but I'm cooking for family Boxing Day and out for tea the night after. Tis all go!

Hi everyone hope you all had a nice weekend done a bit of crimbo shopping but still loads to get Well done Wonder I haven't done the out drinking and socializing bit yet so a little apprehensive as I will be partying new years sure I will be fine with my e-cig. I too have noticed the smell of smoke today outside the supermarket not a nice smell at all, I haven't yet stood next to anyone smoking not sure how that's going to feel.

Hi Chickles and Delina, glad you're going on okay. It's always a bit manic now on the run up to Christmas. Glad to hear you're both coping admirably. I'm sure you'll manage to stay strong at all the parties too cos I think you are both very determined ladies.

Av bin a very very busy little bee today, as am creamcrackered now

Done dins, got my new computer, put the xmas decors up and got the tree put up toooooo i let her in doors put the tinsel etc on it, i just put the lights on it, after a scrap with them

Oh hello, just put my feet up for half an hour and caught up with Strictly before I go. We had the right result thank goodness. Glad that you're both okay nad now putting your feet up.

Just got last bit of packing stuff to sort out now then can get to bed.
