Lovely crisp, bright morning today - just to make everybody feel better.
Did anyone see the lovely full moon last night? It looked like there was a star following it around - I'm sure an astronomist out there can tell us all about it.
Have a good day.

Really icy this morning, had to wait 5 minutes for the car to defrost before I could leave. Lovely and crisp out there but if you have any health concerns such as COPD, then please make sure you take care of yourself.
Andi, the full moon was lovely last night, I heard somebody on the radio say that the next brightest thing that you can see next to it was Jupiter - So there you go, you heard from me..a pretend astronomist
Hey Dawn, as I said yesterday - 2 is a great reading. In fact.... give me a minute and I'll do mine now.... There you go I got 2 /1.0% I haven't smoked for years.
Chickles, just wanted to say 'Thank You' for sharing your story with us yesterday. Some people may think that 'if that happened to me then I would just stop', however when things happen in our lives we all react differently. Some people would put their cigarette out and never smoke again, whilst others would go onto smoke an extra 10 cigarettes that day just because of the news they have recently received about their health. It really does take a strong person to be able to march on ahead and quit smoking. Not everyone is strong to begin with, but building up the confidence and strength to quit can be done.
I've not heard from Jillygirl yet. As soon as I do I'll let you all know. Keep sending those positive thoughts and vibes her way
Big waves to everyone else, I hope you are all enjoying this bright, sunny and crisp day
Stopping smoking is the single most important thing that you can do that will improve your health (and wealth) all round.
She says that the surgeon has managed to separate the cancer from the main artery and so are just waiting for the results of the biopsy. The surgeon said that it's looking good for surgery.
We just have to keep thinking positive for Jillygirl now and that she can have surgery as soon as to remove the tumour completely
Jillygirl is hoping to pop on here at the weekend but in the meantime she is sending all her love
Really am proud of her

Hi Emjay,
Thats lovely news about Jillygirl and thank you so much for keeping us informed
Lovely calming picture Andi, Jupiter and Venus are visible all month long, Mars only briefly after sunset and Mercury and Saturn before sunrise. I had an encyclopedia for my brecky, LOL
Hi Pete, i'm having a nice lazy day cause i have to go out food shopping tomorrow, my fav
how's your eye today, feeling a bit better i hope
monkyAdministratorCake sniffer outer• in reply tosue52
My eye's about the same today, still all puffed up, but her in doors has been putting the ointment in it, and actually getting it in my eye not like me eh
Sue, you stick with us my love, just keep thinking happy thoughts, Christmas, your lovely new grandchild on the way, that we all love you and you come and have a good old rant to us after your brother has gone if he gets you down.
Just go and make a cuppa and leave him to it. You know what men are like they like to do things on their own like they do when they are driving and wont ask for directions
By the way.... I managed to get cream in my own eye! It was an accident, I was eating a chocolate eclair at the time
Thanks Dawn i will, it's just really hard just now, it doesn't help that he's smoking, think i'll have to ban smoking from my house
And he's being a pain, as usual, can't call him anything else i'd get banned from the site
monkyAdministratorCake sniffer outer• in reply tosue52
Sue your doing really well gal, dont let your brother spoil it again
Just let him do his thing, keep turning the other cheek and think of when he has gone cus then you thump hell out of the cushions, jump up & down on your mobile, kick your computer and come and moan at us
Good news about Jillygirl, another step in the right direction.
That is a gorgeous picture Andi, I love the moon. I'm a cancerian as well Dawn, not sure if the moon affects me but I do love a full moon, last night everywhere looked so bright.
Sorry to hear about your slip yesterday John, it happens to most of us but I do admire you, I think if that was me I would have said that I would try again in the new year. It has happened to most of us at one time or another. I remember a no smoking advisor telling me the average amount of times a person would try to give up before the succeeded and it was quite a lot so if this is your 4th time then that is good. Good luck and I hope today is going ok for you, you are sounding very positive.
I hope your eye gets better soon Pete, if it's swollen you wont be able to throw those spears straight, I think Sue needs a few right now.
Chickles, about what you said last night, I have packed my ironing up so as soon as I know where you live I will courier it over to you I don't think it's sad that you like ironing, I know a couple of people who say they find it therapeutic and each to their own. Personally I just can't understand how anyone can like it. Anyway, I didn't do it last night, luckily I found something to wear today that didn't need ironing
Hey Sue, just imagine if you did smoke. How do you think it would leave you feeling? Do you think there is any way at all that you might enjoy it? I don't think so...
Remember that it's not that you can't smoke, if you really do want to smoke, then you can. However, you are choosing not to smoke. You are the one in control of this situation so please try not to let yourself slip into the belief that smoking is something that you want to do.
If things get too bad, can you take yourself away from the situation for a couple of minutes? Depending on how long your brother is around for, if you struggle that much, just think to yourself that if you really do want one, you'll hang fire until the next one that your brother has. If you can let that one cigarette moment pass, then you've done it. You then only have to do it again for the next time you feel this way.
Given time you will get over this and it won't be such a challenge for you every time. Remember to stay positive and to see it as the next level up in this big stopping smoking game!!
Sue can't you tell your brother that you are going out? It's only a little fib for the sake of your sanity
I didn't smoke in my house when I was a smoker, so I certainly wouldn't let anyone else smoke in the house, they have to go outside in the cold, rain, ice and snow like I used to do.
Here is my motto and it especially applies to ironing.... always put off until tomorrow what you can do today xx

Hi ya Kaz,
Erm just wondering erm how you missed your mouth with the choc eclair cream
Brilliant news about Jilly! Thanks Emjay for the update...thank you too for your kind words re my 'sharing' my story...the saying, 'If at first you don't succeed try, try again', springs to mind for me. The support of everyone on here has been a tremendous help to me!
Glad to hear the cream is going in the eye Pete...hope it feels better soon!
Am proper tired today, had an awful sleep last night, so Kazz, I won't be doing your ironing, so cancel the courier
I wanted to put my feet up tonight, but a friend is popping round later, she's doing a form with my daughter, who has been recommended to be a 'Young Ambassador' for our local Lions group. My baby ( I call her that even though she is 17!), is a lovely girl, she recently got a 'Young Leader in Service' award for doing over a 100 hours voluntary work in the local community.
I think I might be getting a cold...hope not...have had a couple of sneezing sessions today.
If I don't fall asleep in the bath, hopefully will be back later!
x
John, well done again on Day 1!
Sue, ban smoking from your house! If anyone dared to smoke in my house, I'd slap them round the chops!
I have told my brother now, that there's no smoking in my house, he did put a bit of a face on but i think he'll go along with it otherwise he ain't getting back in, lucky for him i haven't decorated the living room yet
i did say i may have to go out in a minute......he said he'd stay till i got back.....aarrgh, i'll need to think of plan B
one good thing, the cravings are subsiding just wish he'd do the same
Only thing about that Kazz is it's plugged in, electric might be a good idea but i'm cooking my tea.......just had a thought, i might say i have to lie down cause i have a migraine
I don't know Pete, i don't like confrontation, i can't handle it, i'll just wait till he leaves....then we're all gonna have a big party, so look out your best party clothes and get ready for the dancing
Hey Sue have you got any choc cake left, cus if you have you could chuck it in his face and while he's rubbing his eyes you could grab him, push him around to next door and leave him there
Do you remember Tizwaz and the phantom flan flinger That's actually the best thing to throw, a fruit flan because you can frisby it across the room from a safe distance and then leg it before it even hits target
I might not be able to make the party Sue as I am going out tonight but will you please save some cake for me as I know how greedy you lot are
monkyAdministratorCake sniffer outer• in reply toKazzachoc
Aup Kaz,
Erm just wondered if you had got your face on yet, cus got somthing for you
Well I am off out now, so yes I did have my make up on! You may have won the battle laddie but you have not won the war and yes that is a challenge mwhahahahaha
Do not challenge the best flan flinger since the phantom flan flinger retired
At least I got to see the start of the party You sit down and put your feet up Sue and have a cocktail and some vol au vonts (not sure how you spell that : )
Watch out for Pete he's flinging things around. Maybe next time your brother turns up, hide behind the settee : )
Speak to you all later, have a great party. Sorry to moan Sue and I'm hope I don't sound ungrateful but that cake had fruit on it, it's ok though I will fling in at someone but I'm not saying who
xxxx

So it's been quite busy on here today with lots of ups and downs.
Emjay, thanks for updating us on Jilly's news, always forefront in our thoughts at the moment.
John, so sorry the gremlins got the better of you yesterday but great that you got straight back on the horse.
Pete, eye eye! Pleased for you that it's not got worse.
Sue, just get us all lined up and we'll send our spears to your brother, so sorry he spoiled your afternoon but glad that you came on here this time and didn't buckle under like you did before. Just for that I'm giving you an award!
I learned from the last time, although it wasn't as bad, so i feel i should get through anything now, especially with all my lovely friends on here helping me xx
monkyAdministratorCake sniffer outer• in reply toandi22
What you bin up to then, gardening not being nosey am not
Well I didn't really do that much today. Was going to do some home gym this morning but got up a bit later and once the computer was on - well you know how it is. So shifted my arse into gear and went and tried a Pilates class. It was ok but I don't think it's my kind of thing - too static - I prefer to move myself around a bit so I know I'm alive! Then after lunch I took myself off for a brisk walk round the Head as it was such a beautiful day. Wanted to stretch it out a bit and could feel my ankle by the end but that's ok (no, not over-doing it Pete ) Then I needed a bit of shopping, so popped into TKMaxx (like you do) - of course, once you get in there it takes ages to get out again as you can't stop looking at everything - before going into Sainsburys ad getting carried away in there. Of course, by the time I got home I was starving so had to have my dins before coming on here and here I am!
monkyAdministratorCake sniffer outer• in reply toandi22
So whats a pilates class then sorry i know i should know, but i'm thick
Looks like I missed all the fun and shoes I love that kit kat lasagne mmmm I wasn't sure if it was smarties or m&ms as the filling but who cares I love them all and yes I will save some for you Sue, you can have it for breakfast : ) I don't think Andi fancies it
Pete, I think we need to have a bit of a talk. I've got a bit of a problem with the amount of chocolate cake you are wasting. First you were telling Sue to throw it at her brother and then while I'm out you are getting it all over your hands and face. Chocolate cake is not for wasting and if you are going to carry on like this then I think you need to stick to something more run of the mill, such as apple pie or a tin of fruit cocktail. Ok, glad we got that sorted
Yes as Pete says, come home soon Jillygirl we miss you xxxx
Night night everyone, sleep well you deserve it : ) xxxx
