Halfway through the week again, another weekend fast approaching! Time to reflect and see how your journey has been so far. Have things been as bad as you thought it would be or have you had some unexpected hiccups. If so, how have you learnt to deal with them?
Whether you are thinking about quitting, are in the early days of giving up or are now a few smiles happier down the road just remember that as long as you stay positive the road will be less wobbly and cobbly
Nobody said it would be easy, but everybody says it was worth it

Good morning Emjay! I hope everyone is having a lovely week in spite of the weather!
In speculating on the time spent as a non smoker I realised that the little voice saying "go on, you know you want one" will probably whisper to me every day, some days it's gonna feel more difficult to say "on your bike, chum" to the voice than other days. It's a constant battle, even though I know I don't want to smoke I am still very much aware of needing something but not being able to put my finger on what it is I need. Maybe that hole will forever be there, that emptiness that I can't fill- I guess I will have to just learn to live with it
Tomorrow it's my 5 months quit date. I am going to hint for a takeaway
that's fantastic that you're now 5months stopped Lenne
I know this can be hard from talking to relatives that have stopped, they also had that little voice, they did say that it has now gone, that cigs don't come into their head at all, even when around smokers, they have been stopped a year though.
I hope this is the case for you, i wish i could help you fill the void, to make your life easier, but i know you will succeed
And one day, hopefully, that voice will be gone x
sorry i missed you last night Emjay, was to tired to stay on
all this sleep problem is caused by my thyroid, so stuck with it at the moment, i should work night shift
well day 2, not feeling to bad this morning, patch on, inhalator ready
will keep busy again today, cause i have things to do, will have pillows at the ready in case i need a punch bag later
Hey Leanne, lovely to hear from you I believe that if a person quits smoking for their own reasons, instead of somebody else's (maybe because their other half wanted them to stop, or for their children's sake) then this feeling will eventually pass. However, for those people who stop for somebody else's reasons I quite often hear that they still 'miss' their so called friend and it takes quite a bit of their energy up in making sure they don't let them 'piggies or cravings get the better of them. In an ideal world, we want to be able to help as many of you as possible to not only stop smoking but also to be 'free' from their clutches long term and not have to feel like you have to face this battle every now and again. Hope that makes sense You are doing brilliant and I'm sure that 'whisper' you have every day will soon enough disappear
Sue, did you have a go on the smokerlyser at your group on Monday, to measure your carbon monoxide (CO) levels? If so, what was your reading? Having not smoked for two days will now give you a very low carbon monoxide reading, this will be a great motivator for you if you can have it done again next Monday
Hope everybody else is okay on this very wet Wednesday
Hi Emjay, no i didn't go on that, didn't think about it, normal for me will have a go next week
have you got rain today, sorry we have sunshine and blue skies here, it is a little bit cold though, hope it clears up for you
