Bad news

hi all just had a phone call from hospital to say that my chest pain was because of a small pneumothorax in the upper part of my lung im in a way discouraged by this news as was told my lungs will not repair themselves im still staying smoke free as there is no point undoing all my hard work and discomfort im sad

Hi Freebuffalo, That was a shame about the pneumothorax. Not that its any consolation, but I had cancer and had my whole lung removed, and that was over 12 years ago. So dont get too disheartened. Your lung may not repair fully but it will get stronger. Your body is very clever how it copes. So stay strong You will be fine. 😊

Stay strong now 💪Freebuffalo and like Jillygirl says, quitting the smokes is the best thing you could have done to help your lung 🚭👍

Please listen to the doctors and see what they say 👍😀😸

I second what jillygirl and Monky have said the best thing you’ve done for your lungs is stopping smoking 😊 hang in there at least you now know what it is an you can move forward by listening to to the medical professionals take care you will get there I’m sure 😊💪xxx

Im so thankful for all of you on here i guarantee i would be in a corner in a blind panic because my chest is really hurting but apparently it can hurt whilst its healing i would have rushed to a&e i really appreciate you all

I had one 4 years ago. It repaired itself and no issues since with collapsed lungs, I smoked for a further 3 years after that. You should be fine. Did they say if it was primary or secondary?

They say it looks tiny but with me having emphysema that's what im scared of
