Good morning. I'm going through a bad patch at the moment, and I'm finding I'm craving cigarettes. I haven't smoked for over 40 years. I do not really want to try gum, like a GP once suggested. Any suggestions?

Needing with stress.
Hi Kitten-kat, I’m so sorry to hear your struggling at the moment. We all know how difficult life can be at times but I honestly don’t think introducing nicotine in any form would be helpful. I was wondering if you would try meditation or mindfulness to get you through this. There are some easy exercises for this type of relaxation on line which can improve your well being. Another great thing is swimming as it’s very therapeutic being immersed in water.
Wishing you well and hope this bad patch passes soon💐💖🤗xx
I forgot to say there are quite a few apps like Calm, Headspace or Verywell Mind that are all great to help reduce stress. Take care now xx
Hi Kitten-kat23, that's a difficult one. I've only been smoke free for 6 years and sometimes I still get the same feeling especially when life throws one of its curved balls. I end up talking to myself, convincing myself that I no longer need the nicotine crutch. I also remind myelf why I quit, how brave I am and I also give myself a pat on the back. I find a little self appreciation goes a long way.
Please don't underestimate yourself, after 40 smoke free years you've proved that you're strong enough to manage without Old nic whatever life throws your way. How about a treat? I've just treated myself to some new make up and earrings for everyday. It doesn't have to be expensive, just something that you fancy.
All the best KK, you can handle this
