Hello and welcome to our Weekend Chat everyoneπββοΈ
Autumn is well and truly here and itβs a great time to get out in nature. There are many studies that demonstrate how spending time in nature can improve our mood, lower anxiety and improve cognition and memory. Exposure to nature has been linked to a whole host of health benefits, including mental rest and rejuvenation.
When we quit smoking we may feel anxious and a bit restless. We may be battling cravings and wonder what to do. So what better way than to take ourselves off for some fresh air. Itβs amazing how good it makes us feel. You can start small, it doesnβt have to be a marathon. Have a look at the trees and the beautiful colourful leaves. Breathe in and relax, listen to the sounds around you. Empty your mind of stress and all those busy thoughts that go on in our heads. Spending time in nature helps you take time out and feel more relaxed so weβre in a better position to cope with our quits. Some people call it nurture by nature. It also helps you to be more active, improve your confidence and self esteem.
So have a little ramble this weekend and see how it makes you feel. Get out in the great outdoors and it can also improve your sleep. Some of us have problems sleeping when we first quit, so itβs another bonus to help us.
Hold on tight to your precious quit and enjoy your smoke free weekend. Weβd love to hear how youβre getting on, so please pop in for a chat π¬
