Good morning, afternoon or evening to you allπββοΈ I hope the start of the month has been a good one for everyone.
When we quit smoking, we have to step out of our comfort zone. What is our comfort zone? Our comfort zone entails low stress situations or places where we feel at ease with. Staying within our comfort zone is appealing because it avoids risk. Unfamiliar experiences may be more challenging.
The more you find out about a new challenge, the less scary it can be. After collecting more information, you will have clearer expectations and better knowledge as you prepare to handle your quit smoking journey.
Taking small steps outside your comfort zone allows you to slowly familiarise yourself in each new situation. This strategy can help you gain the confidence you need to achieve your goal. Dividing your main goal into manageable tasks can help it feel easier.
Smoking has been part of our lives and trying to change everything at once can seem a daunting challenge. Lots of members here are going through the same and we can help one another. Thereβs a whole new world outside our comfort zone and we have to be brave enough to embrace it.
Try to stay positive throughout the process and a smoke free future is truly amazing.
Have a very happy Weekend and donβt forget NOPEππͺππ€βοΈπ°βοΈπ§βοΈπ°xx

I'm one week smoke-free after lapsing during the holidays. Four years after giving up smoking altogether.

Hi Briarwood, all the admin team and everyone dropping in ππ»ββοΈ
Yes, great post Briarwood π₯°ππ»
The fear is what always held me back from setting quit dates and actually going through with my quit. The only thing that done was prolong the pain of how I felt as a smoker, I used to self sabotage and judge myself so badly for being a smoker π³
But as you say, once I got in the mindset of learning from my previous quits, that was when I was able to make the move forward and quit! π ππ»π₯°ππ
