Is it normal to have a low heart rate after quitting smoking for a day? Mines been in the 50s and it’s been making me feel like something is wrong.

Hi Hwashvill. Well done for your decision to quit. 👏It's never easy to quit but it's easier with a little support.💪

Welcome to Quit Support.💙

Smoking causes our heart beat to rise, so quitting can cause it to lower. If, however, you feel unwell I suggest you speak with your doctor to set your mind to rest.

Remember to drink lots of water💧 to flush out the toxins and keep yourself hydrated.

If you need anymore help or even just a shoulder to lean on please don't hesitate to ask. There's always someone here.

So for the record, your quit date is 21/10/2019.

We'll assign you a winners' badge and add your name to the wall of winners.

Good luck with your quit.🍀🚭xx

👍👏

I have quitted for 3 days and my rhr is mid 50s. I wasn't a heavy smoker, approx. 5-7 per day but the serenity I feel because of no spikes in the hr is something awesome :D keep up, it will only do goos to you
