I’ve been a part of this quit nicotine cycle for years! After 35 years of puffing away for all reasons, when I was sad, happy, joyful, excited any emotion really, I smoked!
I also hated smoking! The love hate that was strong! I’ve made the break even though I’m one of the ones that go through crap to get to the other side! But I’m determined, the insomnia, anxiety, body aches, flu like symptoms and overall feelings of blah, will not get be back smoking again!
This will be my last attempt at quitting smoking! I just wanted to share my story as I have found, in my insomniac states of being, this group such a powerful source of staying away from smoking!! Thank you to every one who has shared their stories to help others! I’ve appreciated it 💛🚭🔅

Hi Frostytime, well done for your decision to quit and of course for your 80 smoke free days.👏
Welcome to Quit Support.💙
Thanks for sharing your success story.
If you need anything please feel free to ask. There's always someone here.
I've tried to count back 80 days! 😳I make your quit date July 22nd. Please let us know if this is incorrect so we can keep your winners badge up to date.
It's an amazing community and I'm sure really not aware of the support provided. I've been lurking in the background reading away! Thank you for your words xx
Hi frostytime, a massive congratulations on reaching 80 days. I read your post and sent me on a trip down memory lane to my own quit over 5 years ago.
This group got me through some pretty tough times. Although I suffered in silence throughout most of it, it was the success stories and knowing I wasn’t alone truly helped. The support is amazing.
Stay strong and true to yourself. This is your time to shine 👍👍🍀🍀👌👌
That resonates so strongly about the silence, it's nice to know that what you're feeling is shared by others and that you're not alone, also a big congratulations on 5 years quit! Brilliant just brilliant, you must feel immensely proud xx
I do feel proud of myself. I had smoked 30 a day for 40 years. Making the decision to quit was tough as it them made me feel vulnerable. I had never attempted to quit previously as I was afraid of failure. I made the decision and the commitment and the rest is now history.
I just kept ride that roller coaster of emotions knowing that some day it would get easier and it sure did. 🙃
Well done on your quitting! I can totally relate to the insomnia and aches and pain.... i will not let this beat me though and so glad to read that you feel the same.
It’s not a lot of fun! 😂 tiggs1 and the bloating and weight gain!!! Not going to drive me back though! Congratulations to you on your new life and quit too! Hoping you feel good soon x
Well done frostytime... how did you give up eventually? Did you use patches or tablets or go cold turkey? Just interested as your talking about insomnia and fly like symptoms and I’m wondering why I’ve not experienced these symptoms, or do I have them to come? I’m 5 weeks smoke free no coughing no bad symptoms at all.. well done again keep going xx
I went cold turkey DMR1963, have had no coughing but did get the flu and bronchitis for 10days early on I think this was related to stopping! Have had a thick phlegm at the back of my throat, which is just annoying! Lots of emotions and not a lot of sleep, hard but I keep reading it’s does get better, so staying strong! Good luck with you quit! 💛 how are you quitting? Forgot to mention a lot of lightheadeness as well!
I’m using the champix tablets, they turn off the receptor in the brain which ‘screams’ for nicotine.
I’ve smoked for 40 plus years heavily..
I have only there side effects, one is very vivid dreams throughout the whole of my sleep (I sleep for about 9 hours now, I used to have very broken sleep up and down 3-4? times a night) I’m so very hungry all of the time..and yes mentally I’m a bit slow and forgetful but I’m told the foggy brain thing is to do with the tablets.. that’s it? No cough no aches and pains no sore head etc. My lungs are clear as they can be
You superstar you, Frostytime! What an emotional, physical and mental roller coaster the quitting game is but if you can ride it out, you emerge a much stronger, clear thinking, deep breathing, beautifully smelling, clearer skinned, loving, wonderful human being!!! Keep going, you’re pretty much over the worse....much love, Poll x
Congratulations, stay strong! I gave up 1st of August so I'm two and a half months smoke free and I forget about it most days there are still hard days but it's worth it
Congratulations Anna!! 👏👏👏 we’re on the same path! We‘ll be 3 months soon! And I have never stopped for that long! Definitely worth everything you go through! 🌻😊💛🚭 I have no interest in smoking but have struggled with the emotional withdrawal symptoms, thank you for your encouragement 💛x
