I have no idea why but today I have had the deep down cravings I experienced during my first week of quitting.
The niquitin lozenges have done their job and eased them pretty quickly but I have sucked on 7 of them today compared to the 3/4 I was managing with over the last week.
Nothing will get me to quit on quitting as I am seeing so many benefits to being a non-smoker but today has been a tough one.

Sorry to hear you’re struggling today tiggs, some days are harder than others for no particular reason. Be very proud of yourself for getting through it and wishing you a better day tomorrow. You’re doing great👍xx
As Briar says some days are harder than others. Knowing this will equip you to better deal with them. They suck but each craving overcome is a step nearer to freedom hun xx
Nicotine deprivation is only one of the triggers to having those intense desires to smoke. Your NRTs can deal with the nicotine but doesn't offer much protection against others. It may be a moment of anxiety or stress or something as simple as a familar smell or situation when you would previously smoke. These triggers diminish with time but they don't necessarily go altogether. They WILL pass within a few minutes.
Hi Briarwood, good to hear from you too! Lily & I are both doing really well. I'm currently making a renewed assault on my weight. 12kgs in 2 months. I feel like I've been losing & gaining weight ever since I quit. The dog "Vinnie" has been very helpful insisting on his walk every day, rain hail or shine. I may have walked 8kms on the golf course or cycled 20kms but that doesn't excuse me from the daily walk.
