Hi Beebox,

I’m 9weeks stopped after smoking for over 40years, I started the anxiety feeling mixed with insomnia about 4 weeks ago, it’s 2.30 am here and I’ve just woke up feeling anxious, I haven’t had this for a couple of days but when I do I get up and watch tv for a while then go back to bed. My anxiety is getting better now so In a few weeks Im sure it will vanish. Hope your ok and stay strong it does get better

Take care

Pete

I also went to doctors and he gave me some anxiety meds, these are highly addictive, I just changed my diet and what I drink, although I occasionally have a nytol before bedtime and that relaxes me, take a bath before bed, drink warm milk and honey, camomile tea, I suppose it’s up to you to find your own way, like I said it will get better never stop believing that.

I’m just going back to bed now, this help group has been my saviour to be honest,

Take care

Pete

Hey Beebox, i suggest you don't take the meds, because i too had a recent dose of good anxiety and panic attacks. But meditation coupled with positive conversations with people which although takes more time is a much better cure than meds which are both addictive and make you too much dependent on them in future. Reading books and meditation Apps also do the trick for me. Hope and pray you come out of all that, after all its what you think that matters and not the anxiety driven mind !

Hi Beebox, I’m currently 3months into quitting, I’m still suffering from anxiety still, I don’t think there is a specific timeline as we are all different. I was a heavy smoker 40 a day so deserve all my body throws at me, I just take each day as it comes and as each new day comes say I’m a day closer to feeling better.

Good luck and keep at it.

Thanks Chris, from the anxiety I feel like a rubber band is around my ribs and gets tighter. I'm trying a low dose med for the anxiety. Never had anxiety before

Same here, most of the issues I have now I never had before. My anxiety stems from my heart rate, I get anxious every time it goes up, then the pain. Starts that it keeps going up. It’s a vicious circle.

That description---a rubber band around your ribs and gets tighter---is exactly how I feel about every other day (I am on Day 20 smoke-free). It is truly anxiety, and my one cure is a chest rub that I made from olive oil, peppermint oil, and lavender oil. I rub it on my sternum, upper chest, under my nose, on my neck, and on my wrists, and sometimes even on the soles of my feet. It helps a lot. Hang in there and take some medications if natural preparations fail. Hugs.

Hey Beebox😊

Breath deep every once in a while. It helps and so does drinking lots of water and short walks when you’re wanting to light up.

I take L-theanine from the health food store for focus and anxiety. Worth a try . Some people on site swear by chamomile tea or valarian root or kava

Hang in there 💐
