Ok so my daughter is making me quit smoking so I am definitely smoking less but now I've noticed heart palpitations at night while laying down and kinda short of breath at times. Is this normal?I use to smoke whenever I wanted than every two hours and than every three. I smoke a little more when she's not around but not as much as I used too.

Hello and welcome to quit support.

First of all the symptoms you are having are a mixture of anxiety and the lack of nicotine

your body has been used to.

Your daughter is right in wanting you to quit, however you must want to quit smoking for yourself and not because someone is pressurising you into it.

Have a good look at the information on the pinned posts.

If you are still serious and want to quit for yourself, then plan your quit, get prepared, buy your nicotine replacement product in advance. Set yourself a quit date. When your ready throw away all smoke related items so the temptation isnt there .

Come back on here , and we will be ready to help and support you.

Good luck and look forward to your quit journey. :) xxx

Any questions please fire away. :)
