Urgh, Thinking of stopping

OK, so smoking has always been 'my thing' but my Lungs are bad to say the least. I'm 50 yrs old now and I think the time has come. I am not looking forward to giving up one bit. Maybe the thought is worse than the action tho? I smoke roll ups, about ten a day at the moment.

Hi rachex and welcome 😊

I think there comes a time in our lives when we finally get a decent brain cell that says 'you flippin fool, why are you setting your money on fire.... Give up killing yourself'

So this is your time....😊 You know it's the best for your health. It ain't easy but it is definitely worth it in the end 😊

How you giving up cold turkey or Nicotine replacement??

Have a good mooch round the site as there is a wealth of information and if ya wanna know anything, just holler😊

We say NOPE....Not One Puff Ever 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🚭🚭🚭🚭🚭🚭

Yowza, not one puff, ever. I like it. You are my first reply and that shall stick with me I think.

I've got patches and some little capsule thingies you put in a little puffer, which I'm not keen on.

I've got an e cigarette but I don't like it as it makes me cough...alot. 😕

I'm not sure how to go about it yet. Maybe just stick a patch on and see how I get on. 😰

Thanks for replying.👍😀

I gave up with patches.... Make sure you put the patch on a different part of the body and alternate which side too each day, that way less chance of irritation. Also remove the patch at least 30 mins before you go to bed it should help reduce the weird dreams🙀

Always carry a spare, I was always forgetting to put one on!!

As to the other stuff I haven't tried them but I'm sure the others have.... Actually I think Andrew used the inhalator thingy....

Good luck with your quit, remember we have all been where you are now so please use us.... It's what we are here for😊🍀🍀🍀🍀🚭🚭🚭🚭🚭🚭

Hi Rache, the best thing you can do for your health, that's when I decided to quit the 50 mark. I think the though of giving up is the worst. It does change your life, routines and not going to lie you will probably have tough days. The thing I don't miss is going on holiday and no worrying in case I run out of cigs. My life seemed to revolve around cigs, have one when relaxing, worried, stressed, holidays socialising . It really does take over your life.

I am much calmer, O ,,, I still have bad days , but few and far between. I have more energ, skin brighter, teeth whiter and I smell nicer.

The positives go on an on. give it a go, you won't regret it. Stay close to this site and shout out if you need help, have a read of some of the posts. There are great people here to support you. Go for it :) :) x

Hi Rachex!

I had the same thoughts as you..I didn't want to quit, yet I didn't want to be 50 and still a smoker. Just take it one day at a time and you'd wish you had done it years ago. First week is the hardest and then it just gets better and better.
