You're all WINNERS !

So, here I am, again feeling annoyed with myself 😑 because, once again, I've fallen by the wayside with Mr Nic! πŸ‘ΏπŸ‘Ώ

Every day I get up saying to myself "this is the day, the first of many. I will not take another puff". By the end of the day old Mr Nic πŸ‘Ώ has seduced me and my ridiculously low willpower into submission yet again. 😫😀😫😀😫

I could say I've had a bad day at work, or have had a drink, but these are just silly excuses.

I have so much admiration for all you guys on here who are beating the crap out of the old nic, you are all so kind and supportive even for the likes of me who keeps failing time and time again. You are my inspiration. πŸ‘πŸ™πŸ––πŸ€˜βœŒ

And yes, I will try again tomorrow, and if need be the next day..... and the next until I've got this beaten too.

So wish me luck

xxxxxxxx

Hi kmaymu

As long as you don't give up trying, you will win the battle.

Have you considered using some form of NRT..as this helps you focus on your habit of not smoking first..then gradually you can reduce the nicotine in your body..this way you do t get all the Nasty chemicals (over 4000 of them) found in cigarettes.

Be clear on your reasons for quitting..If you only half heartedly want to quit, that is the effort and dertermination that you will put in as well

Quitting is hard..but millions of people around the world are doing it everyday..so it is ver doable..it takes a strong desire to be smoke free..a dermination to stick at at an ride the waves while your body adjusts to being smoke free. Support is another big factor in success and that is where our quit support group has been so instrumental in many members success stories including my own. Make sure you get the people around you onboard, this is especially handy when out drinking and not always having the same control

One thing that helped on day one was not starting my quit first thing..my day always started with a coffee and a couple of smokes..I started my quit at 1pm. By the time the next morning x]came around I was so proud to have got through the afternoon at work and the evening.πŸ‘ next day in stead of having a coffee first thing, I had a shower so mixing up your normal routine helps with breaking the habit. I smoked 30 a day for 40 years and did it..so believe in yourself and you can too.. We are all here to support and encourage you on your journey πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸšπŸšπŸ€πŸ€πŸ€

Thanks Linda I do seem to have a problem with mornings so I'm going to try to stop oral, mid morning. I've got an e-cig on hand and I've made today 'work lunch making day'. Basically making a big pot of homemade soup and ratatouille to freeze for work lunches. Hopefully that will keep me busy. I'll check in tomorrow tell you all how I got on.

Keep strong, don't sweat the small stuff! πŸ‘

Hi kmaymu, I do admire you you for for your determination and getting straight back to it. Perhaps you need to use nrt to help and other visual aids. I had posters all over my home, smoke free calendars, I change my routines, replaced morning coffee for fruit juice, went for walks when I felt the urge, and even went to bed early to avoid the temptation in the first few weeks, till I felt stronger. It is hard no denying that. I smoked 32 years 20 a day, so I know what it's like. But believe me it does get better and the health benefit are well worth it. If I remember right your partner smokes, tell him to hide them from you, to much of a temptation a first. Write a list of the benefits , put the money you would have used for cigs in a jar , each week and see it mount up, or treat yourself each week with something nice. I went for treating myself, getting my nails done, etc . You can do this, but you really need to want to. We are here to support you if we can on your quit journey, so stay strong and don't give inπŸ˜€

Hi Km your doing the right thing not giving in trying to give up πŸ˜„

Can I make a suggestion as I have stopped by using an e-cig and this has worked for me and this is how I began.

Once upon a time this ciggygonney type person decided on the 29th April 2016 that she was going to stop smoking tomorrow however she decided to finish off the toxic poison still available first. This toxic poison entered her body until 11am the following day and then she used the e-cig for the remainder of that day and yes It was hard but doable. The following morning she got up at 6am for work very bleary eyed and wanting a cigarette but then she thought oh no I've stopped smoking and the panic kicked in what could she do. But ha she had thought about this the previous evening and put her e-cig next to her bed so she had a couple of puffs before she even got out of bed. By the time she got up and made a coffee she didn't even want a cigarette the craving, anxiety, panic etc had passed. She did this for several days until she no longer thought too much about smoking first thing. So ciggygonney now 7 weeks on lives happily ever after.

πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ hope this helps, me thinks I need help πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€
