Hi Kelly, 4 days quit is fantastic π Please don't give in..by quitting cold turkey you no longer have nicotine in your system so that's great.... The headaches are just symptoms of withdrawal and will pass, as will the cravings. Go for a walk or do some exercise, drink water... Do whatever you can to stop yourself from lighting up
Every single person on this site has been where you are now. Quitting is the best you can do for your health and wealth.... Why not plan a treat for yourself at the end of the first week with the money you have saved π
You can do this.... Not one puff ever ππππππππππππππ
Hi Kellycla - i also quit cold turkey and the first week was the absolute worst - you are right, even thinking was a problem and i was reduced to a primitive level of existence, but after the first week there was definite improvement, so just hang in there. Try to keep busy to help pass time. I was glued to this site and read a lot of the old posts and i consumed vast amounts of tictacs. My regrettable user name on this site is due to my diminished brain capacity in those early days :-).
After 72 hours all traces of nicotine should be out of your body, and withdrawal symptoms peak at 3-5 days, so you are almost there.. come on, you have this!!!
I like your comment tictac2 am hoping i will emerge victorious.
Kelly--you couldn't pay me to go cold turkey--I had to wean down to 2 cigs a day and then an e cig if it got terrible--I know you want to do it quick and get it over with but some people have a devil of a time doing what you are--Usually it is health reasons and they are scared--Do what works for you--You have time and you don't have to suffer or punish yourself--You are a work in progress--You will get there. If you are going to go cold turkey--I hope those that have will respond to you and help you because fear and suffering were not for me--6 mos clean now--and proud and it hurt but it could have been worse--Just don't go thru your quit gritting your teeth--and white knuckling it--Recovery takes time--and if you are doing gum--e-cigs--whatever you can still say you have quit and are in recovery because you are workin your program--ok?/ relax and do what is easiest for you--No rippin hair out--we cant fix that here--but we can support you in whatever you decide--xxx MmeT
