Giving up smoking
Hello and welcome to quit support
Congratulations on your decision to quit smoking and well done on getting through the first 8 weeks
Changes in your sense of smell and taste are a very common symptom of recovery. they can change lots in the first few months, so try not to stress over it as it will settle down
Have a read of some of the pinned posts to the right of the screen as there is a lot of info on the symptoms of recovery..Do try and be patient..it does take some time for our bodies to adjust to not having all the chemicals found in cigarettes
You are doing brilliantly - Keep up the awesome quit you have going there
Can you please let us know your quit date so we can add you to our wall of winners
Welcome Hell13 and congrats on 8 weeks👏🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉that's a huge success!!!! Our sense of taste and smell increases.... Sounds like yours is too sensitive right now..... It will settle down to normal soon enough....... I'm just starting to feel better after 5 months of a mental and physical roller coaster ride ..... Greetings and best wishes from Canada 🇨🇦

Hi Hell and welcome to quit support😊
Huge congratulations on 8 weeks quit and yes it is probably one of the hardest things to do but you are doing it👏🏼👏🏼
Your body is struggling to heal itself and everything is out of kilter at the moment. It will get better so please be patient with yourself. Lots of help and support here for you so no need to struggle on your own. Just remember that you're doing great and it's the best possible thing you can do for your health.
My advice is lots of deep breathing to get through the stress and sips of water. If you can get up and move around when the craving hits and perhaps a walk in the fresh air might help your appetite. Things will begin to settle down and in the meantime, hang in there. Good luck🍀 and NOPE not one puff ever🚭🚭🚭😊
