Hiya 21 and welcome to quit support😊

Congratulations on 17 days quit, great achievement so well done to you👏🏼

Unfortunately your body is going through a huge amount of change right now and that's why you're feeling awful☹️ It's takes time for our bodies to heal and we really have to be patient but it honestly will get better. Have a read of some of the pinned posts on the right and this will help you to understand what's going on. Some good breathing techniques there as well. My advice is to drink lots of water to help flush out the toxins and a bit of excercise will help speed things up. We all know how hard this can be as we've been where you are now. Our mantra is NOPE not one puff ever, good luck and you'll get there🍀

Hi 210116, Well done on reaching 17 days yes it is a difficult stage in quitting. It does get better the first week is the worst then the first month. After that things do get better. Obviously everyone is different but that was my experience. You've come so far now you can't give in now after 17 days. That really is great going. Stick with it the end is in sight.

Hello!! I hear ya..... Quitting in the first month made me so sick...... I had headaches , sweats, Nausea, back pain..... My teeth were aching and the roof of my mouth was peeling...... I freaked out and thought WTH is going on with me!!!!!

Thank God for the senior quit people on this site.... They reassured me this is normal..... And it will pass..... Otherwise I would have lit up...... Keep your reason for quitting close and keep this site closer..... I'm having a hard time but I want my 5 month badge in two weeks!!!!!

Hang in there....

It gets BETTER!!!!!!!!! Xxxx

Hi, have a browse through past posts on this lovely quitters site! Some of the ailments we get when quitting is really surprising....some will make you laugh and others not so much. All I can say is those ailments are a result of smoking, not quitting. It's just that smoking masks them quite cleverly.....they don't tell you that on the packets eh? Everyone is different, and nobody on here would say this is an easy journey (especially at first). You will feel 100 times better once you get passed the healing up stage....honest!

Well done for your 17 day quit 😊

It really does get better, and you are right in the eye of the storm, so no point going back now :) just keep moving forward day by day and you will be out the other side in no time.

I had bleeding gums and had to use a baby soft toothbrush for 6 months! But it was worth it. Remember your body is busy getting rid of over 4000 chemicals, and your brain is busy telling you all sorts of lies..... but those receptors are dying every day and soon they will just shut up for good :)

Stay strong you are doing an awesome job x
