Hi am still off the ciggies. Pleased that I am able to drink and socialise without gasping for a smoke. Have now been able to cut down on the mountains of sweets and chocolates I have been eating. Have put on 3 lbs since I stopped smoking so must not put on any more. My doc told me 2 things before I gave up smoking. The first was that my asthma would improve and that I'd be able to cut down on the number of preventer puffs from my inhaler. Thought she was just saying that to induce me to give up smoking. But it is true. Have cut down number of puffs by half. The other thing was that blood regenerates itself within 2 months so that with the new untainted blood , the energy levels increase.Am waiting eagerly for this new burst of vitality!

Congratulations and IO'm so happy to hear you are feeling the improvements. It can be frustrating as one puts up with the symptoms for the first days/weeks and has to continue waiting until feeling the benefits.

The weight gain, should be easy to move a little more and burn those calories now you feel more energetic (or at least less out of breath). Despite the recent study which says exercise doesn't cause people to lose weight... It's a part of it.

Keep it up and remind yourself each day how much better you are for it :)
