Hi jongo and welcome to quit support.

i never had this problem myself but hopefully others that have will pop on and share with you what it was for them.

Many of members have had teeth and gum problems as part of their body recovering.

It may just be the inside of your mouth replacing new cells..

If you are concerned, i would suggest seeing your GP or dentist.

If not coughing up any blood, you probably have nothing to worry about at all, but often it is that peace of mind seeing a specialist :) :)

Can you let us know your quit date and we will add you to our wall of winners :) :)

Hiya Jongo and welcome to quit support😊

Congratulations on your quit and I think your throat is renewing itself after inhaling smoke from cigs and is now regenerating. As our lovely admin has said, pop to you G.P just to put your mind at rest that it's nothing more worrying.

Have a good look round the site, lots of good posts to read under pinned posts on the right and good luck🍀

Welcome Jongo and good morning ..5:15am where I'm from in Canada ☕️☕️

Well, I can share with you that I was worried when the roof of my mouth was raw and peeling and my teeth ached..... Pete reassured me it was my body shedding the burned damaged skin and regrowing beautiful healthy skin and sure enough he was right.... I know people who cough up a lot can cough up blood.... A friend of mine coughs up blood..... Not a lot of blood but blood tinged mucus.... He's still smoking unfortunately..... You'll find you're not by yourself on this site..... Everyone has been through hell quitting and some have breezed through their quit journey...... My quit journey has been hard..... I keep this site close and the reason I quit close ...... Not One Puff Ever

Hi jon

If you were still smoking and tasted blood you probably wouldn't think about it.

For reassurance my gums bled for months and months and still do. And its not always obvious where they are bleeding from
