Why in my head does it seem as its a constant battle between having a fag and not having a fag it would be so nice just to have something different to think about it seems its a constant struggle to get through 1 min 1 hour 1 day but I am doing it slowly but surely

It is tough at the beginning, but try and hang in there as it does get easier☺️

Think about how much healthier you are going to be, what you are going to spend the money that you are not spending on cigarettes👍👍

Have a read of some of the pinned posts as these will help you.

The Allan Carr easy way to quit book is a worthwhile read as it challenges your thinking. This can be downloaded as a free pdf just google it.

Keep reminding yourself why you are quitting☺️☺️☺️

Like GloLin has said you're doing really well. Most of us find that all we can think about is smoking, but this does get less the longer your quit. Have a few snacks around the house (fruit nuts etc. ) nibble on those when you get the urge to smoke.

Yep I aim to get back to feeling better for Christmas.

Hopefully have a bit more hair than I have now. :)

Cant tell what colour it is yet. Looks more like a well worn scrubbing

brush at the moment. :D

Hey Donesmoking,

Well done on your first week, what a great achievement. You're right to take it one minute, one hour, one day at a time. Baby steps..... You'll soon be running!

First week is tough - no doubt about it. Good advice above. Also deep breathing and/or exercise helped me.

You're doing great as will said breathing exercises are great also getting in all the lovely fresh air instead of all the chemicals from cigarettes.

It's worth reading the Alan Carr book on stopping smoking. I read it years ago and it did nothing but now I really want to quit I read it again last weekend and it really helps u reframe ur thoughts about quitting and to be positive about it. Worth a read. He says not to use nrt which I couldn't do Iv got patches and gum but I found his psychology of it all very useful.

Worth a read and u can get it free if u google it and doesn't take long to read

I often think about cigarettes but I always think of how my body is healing and I like that better. I don't want to go through that awful withdrawal again because I know if I light up I'll just want to quit again and then I'll have to suffer through withdrawal symptoms again. Not fun. I got really sick and now I'm finding not lighting up and cravings easier to deal with
